Im Vergleich zu einem einfach gebrochenen Gebiss übt dieses Gebiss mehr Druck auf die Zunge aus. Die Sweet Iron-Gebisse sind aus Stahl und haben eine erkennbare blaue Farbe. Sweet Iron rostet, wenn es mit (Luft-)Feuchtigkeit in Berührung kommt, der Oberflächenrost schmeckt süß und regt auf natürliche Weise die Speichelproduktion an.
