Der Solidyne ADA102 ist eine eigenständige Streaming-Box. Der Encoder wandelt ein symmetrisches analoges oder digitales AES/EBU Stereo-Audiosignal in einen MP3- oder unkomprimierten PCM-Audiostream um. Am Ethernet Anschluss steht der Stream via TCP / IP oder RTP zur Verfügung. Die Umschaltung zwischen Encoder und Decoder erfolgt über einen Druckknopf auf der Vorderseite wird des ADA102.

Über eine RS232 Schnittstelle und einem GPIO Anschluss kann der ADA102 auch mit ihm verbundene Geräte fernsteuern bzw. ein-und ausschalten (2x Relaisausgang).

Um das gestreamte Audiossignal wieder in ein analoges oder digitales Audiosignal umzuwandeln, ist der Solidyne ADA102 als Decoder am anderen Verbindungsende notwendig.

Besonders interessant zur Anbindung an den Senderstandort ist der Solidyne ADA102-MPX.

Er ist die einzige digitale Verbindung am Weltmarkt, die auf der Decoderseite des gestreamten Signals eine direkte Senderanbindung ohne zusätzliche Geräte ermöglicht. Zusätzlich bieten alle ADA102 einen Backup Player via USB-Stick, der bei Ausfall der Ethernet-Verbindung ein aufgezeichnetes Programm abspielt. Sobald die Verbindung wieder hergestellt ist, wird das gestreamte Signal wiedergegeben.
