Im Herbst fängt der Wettlauf um die Wintervorräte an. Als Tiere im Wald sammelt ihr Holz, Nüsse und Ahornblätter. Damit bereitet ihr euch auf die kalte Jahreszeit vor. Wer seine Stiche klug plant und seine Fähigkeiten effizient einsetzt, gewinnt.

Spannender und innovativer Kern des Spiels ist ein Stichspiel mit vier Farben, auch mit gelben Trumpfkarten. Wer eine Karte gewinnt oder ein loswird, bekommt etwas. Es gibt Ressourcen, um die Waldhäuser auszubauen. Brombeeren sind flexibel einsetzbar. Man kann sogar direkt durch besonders starke Karten aufsteigen. Wichtig sind Timing und Handmanagement.

Nach neun Stichen kommt die Lieferphase. Jetzt zeigt sich, wer seine Vorräte gut genutzt hat. Ihr steigt in den Waldhäusern auf, bezahlt Ressourcen und setzt eure Tiermarker höher. Für jede Stufe gibt es Punkte. Oft gibt es auch Bonusaktionen. Damit könnt ihr mehr Brombeeren sammeln oder eure Eulen wieder aktivieren.

Die Eulen sind dabei sehr wichtig. Jede hat eine besondere Fähigkeit: Ressourcen günstiger machen, umwandeln, verdoppeln oder zwei Karten aus einem Stich aussuchen. Jede Fähigkeit kann nur einmal benutzt werden, bis sie wieder aktiviert wird. So entsteht ein spannendes Puzzle aus Ressourcen und Zeitmanagement.

Toughest dang balls I ever played with

These things are amazing. We have a ball obsessed Husky mix and he has destroyed Kongs, Chuck Its, and a whole lot of other ball shaped objects. These things? We bought the 4 pack because we bought 4 Chuck Its and they lasted a year, all 4 of them only a year, before they were destroyed. A year after buying these? We only bought more because he lost 3 of them. I think we did find one under the dresser after buying this pack... But the others? They either ended up thrown over the fence into the woods or lost in the holes in the yard the monster digs up. Other than a few pockmarks from his teeth and maybe some mud, they may as well be brand new even after a year or two. Probably the most chew resistant thing we've ever bought him. They're really solid rubber and since he hasn't managed to bite into them to take out a chunk, they're safe as hell. Being as big as they are, I don't worry he's gonna choke unattended on them like the usual size of ball. About the only concern is forcing breaks so he can have breathing moments when he manages to talk us into fetch outside. It fits in the larger Chuck It thrower too, so we haven't lost any value from having those torn up.
