Science-minded factions dedicate their lives to research and innovation, convinced that knowledge is the only way forward. Military factions are ruthless conquerors who see war as a means to their ends. Diplomatic factions focus on building relationships between factions and attempt to lead Congress through consultation. Industrial factions build ambitious infrastructures and transform planets into advanced cities and industrial complexes. Cultural factions focus on spiritual and cultural development and seek the wisdom offered by ancient relics.

Faction cards can be played in various ways: you can incorporate them into your empire or sacrifice them for a one-time benefit through an agreement. The game features over thirty different factions.
