Die kleine Terrine mit Pfefferschote geht auf einen Entwurf Johann Joachim Kaendlers aus dem Jahr 1742 zurück und zeugt von jener spielerischen Raffinesse, mit der der große Modelleur selbst Alltagsgegenstände in kostbare Kunstobjekte verwandelte.
Kaendler erhob die exotische Pfefferschote – ein Luxusgut und kostbares Handelsobjekt der frühen Neuzeit – zu einem repräsentativen Symbol höfischer Kultur und europäischer Entdeckungsgeschichte.
Die heutige Neuausführung greift die historische Form auf und verbindet sie mit einer farblich opulenten, orientalisch inspirierten Staffage. Das intensive „Omanrot“ des Fondes erinnert an die tiefen Rotnuancen östlicher Textilien und Kunstwerke und bildet einen eindrucksvollen Kontrast zum strahlenden Weiß des Porzellans. Die in Gold ausgeführten Vögel und Früchte entfalten auf dieser warmen Grundfarbe einen besonderen Glanz, der dem Gefäß eine kostbare, fast reliquienartige Ausstrahlung verleiht.
Um die Spannung zwischen Relief und Malerei zu bewahren, bleibt die plastische Struktur bewusst im Weiß. Dadurch richtet sich der Blick des Betrachters unmittelbar auf die goldenen Akzente und die präzise Ausarbeitung des Dekors.

Beate Jachs Malerei verbindet malerische Tiefe mit der Leuchtkraft von Aufglasurfarben und verleiht der Terrine eine elegante, historisch verankerte Farbigkeit.

It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.
