PRODUCT DETAILS:
Select Surfaces Savannah Stair Nose Molding is designed to complement Select Surfaces® Laminate Flooring: Savannah (990304465 and 990311687). Each pack contains five stair nose moldings, each 47" in length.
Stair Nose Molding
This is a specialized trim piece used in the installation of laminate flooring on stairs. It is designed to provide a seamless transition between the horizontal surface of the laminate flooring. The main function of stair nose molding is to protect the exposed edges of the laminate flooring on stairs from wear and tear, and to prevent tripping hazards by providing a smooth, rounded edge that is easy to navigate. It also enhances the overall aesthetic appeal of the staircase by providing a clean, finished look.
Installation
Leave a1/4" (6mm) expansion gap between the molding and the laminate plank. If desired, moldings can be glued to the sub-floors or concrete, but should not be glued directly to the laminate plank. To ensure a waterproof installation, apply silicone caulking to the edge of the molding that will come in direct contact with the laminate flooring surface and immediately wipe away any excess silicone caulking. Also, make sure to follow the installation instructions for both the stair nose molding and the laminate flooring to ensure a safe and effective installation.
