Co Cyprindiol Description
Co-cyprindiol is a hormonal tablet that can be used to treat acne.
It contains a type of oestrogen and an anti-androgen, and you take it every day.
You take the pill for 21 days, followed by a seven day pill-free break.

What is Co-cyprindiol?

Co-cyprindiol is prescribed to help with acne, very oily skin, and excessive hair growth in women. It also acts as a contraceptive, offering the same protection as the combined pill, but it's not given just for contraception.

Co-cyprindiol is taken daily for 21 days during your ovulation cycle, followed by a one-week break.

How does Co-cyprindiol work?

Co-cyprindiol is made up of two active ingredients. The first is Ethinylestradiol, a man-made version of oestrogen, and the second is Cyproterone acetate, which acts as an anti-androgen.

Co-cyprindiol helps to combat acne by blocking androgen receptors, which in turn reduces the impact of androgens on your skin. Androgens are hormones that can lead to an excess production of sebum, an oily substance that can cause acne. By preventing these hormones from affecting your skin, Co-cyprindiol helps to control acne.

Androgen can lead to extra hair growing on the face and certain areas of the body. Co-Cyprindiol helps to stop this by using female hormones to balance out the effects of androgen.

The hormones in Co-cyprindiol function much like those in the contraceptive pill. They prevent your ovaries from releasing eggs and alter the lining of the womb, making it harder for an egg to implant. Additionally, these hormones thicken the vaginal fluid, making it more difficult for sperm to move through.

What doses of Co-cyprindiol are there?

Co-cyprindiol comes in just one dose: take one tablet daily for the first 21 days of your cycle, then have a seven-day break. Each tablet includes 2mg of Cyproterone acetate and 35 mcg of ethinylestradiol. If Co-cyprindiol isn't effective for you or if you experience side effects, there are other treatment options like creams and gels. You can discuss these alternatives with our clinician by signing into your account and sending a message.

How long does it take Co-cyprindiol to work?

You'll need to use this treatment for three months to fully benefit from Co-cyprindiol, and you might need to keep using it for a longer period. It's important to have regular check-ups to ensure it's working well.

How long can I take Co-cyprindiol for?

There's no specific duration for taking Co-cyprindiol. You'll probably need to use it for at least three months. After that, our clinician will assess whether you should stop the treatment once your acne has improved, or if switching to another medication would be more beneficial.

What should I do if I make a mistake when taking Co-cyprindiol?

If you're less than 12 hours late taking a pill, simply take it as soon as you remember. Then continue taking the rest of your pills at the usual time. This shouldn't affect your level of contraceptive protection.

However, if you're over 12 hours late taking a pill or have missed more than one, your contraceptive protection might be reduced.

Take the most recent missed pill as soon as you remember, then carry on taking the rest at the usual times. For the next seven days, use an additional contraceptive method. If your current pack finishes before these seven days are up, start the next pack straight away without a break. This means you won't have the usual seven pill-free days, but that's perfectly safe. You won't have a period until you finish the next pack, though you might notice some bleeding on days when you take the pill, which is nothing to worry about.

If you don't have a period after finishing the second pack, it's important to talk to our clinician before starting Co-cyprindiol again, as there might be a chance you're pregnant. In the meantime, you'll need to use a different form of contraception.

How is Co-cyprindiol different from other treatments for acne?

Many acne treatments are available as gels and creams, which can be both messy and take up time. Co-cyprindiol, on the other hand, is an easy-to-take tablet that you only need to take once a day. It's specifically for women and also works as a contraceptive to prevent pregnancy.

Co-cyprindiol is specifically for treating hormonal acne, so it shouldn't be used for acne that's caused by a bacterial infection, for instance.

How is Co-cyprindiol different to other excess hair treatments?

Another option for treating excess hair is a topical cream called Vaniqa. Unlike the Co-Cyprindiol pill, Vaniqa doesn't work by adjusting hormone levels. Instead, it contains an ingredient that blocks an enzyme responsible for excessive hair growth.

Since Vaniqa isn't a hormonal treatment, it doesn't act as a contraceptive like Co-Cyprindiol. Therefore, if you want a solution for excess hair that doesn't prevent pregnancy, Vaniqa might be a more suitable choice.

Is Co-cyprindiol similar to any other treatments?

Co-cyprindiol is quite similar to Dianette. Both have the same active ingredients in identical amounts.

The primary difference between Dianette and Co-Cyprindiol is the branding. They're produced by different companies, which means their packaging varies. Additionally, the non-active ingredients in the tablets are not the same.

The cost of different brands of pills can differ as well. Dianette is a bit more expensive than Co-Cyprindiol.

Who is Co-cyprindiol for?

Co-cyprindiol is intended for women who haven't had success with other acne treatments. It's specifically for acne that hasn't improved with antibiotics and isn't meant for any other use.

It's important not to use this treatment if you're trying to get pregnant.

Do I need a prescription for Co-cyprindiol?

Yes, you'll need a prescription for Co-cyprindiol. This allows our clinician to ensure it's safe for you. It's crucial to check that you're not on any other medication or have any conditions that could be impacted by taking Co-cyprindiol.

It's also important to make sure your acne is caused by hormones and not something else.

Important Information

Co-cyprindiol isn't right for everyone, and there are a few things you should know when using it.

Here's all the official information on it. If anything isn't clear, just let our clinician know, and they can discuss it with you.

Perfect Jumbo Size with Hotel-Quality Comfort & Support
Color: White, Size: Queen(Pack of 2)
I recently purchased the Jumbo size pillows. After trying a week, I couldn’t be happier with them! The size is perfect—nice and full without feeling bulky. They provide just the right amount of medium support, keeping my head and neck comfortable whether I’m sleeping on my back or side. The 100% cotton cover feels soft and breathable, and the pillows stay cool throughout the night. I also love the gusseted design—it really helps the pillows maintain their shape and gives them that luxury hotel feel. Even after several nights of use, they haven’t gone flat. Another big plus is that they’re machine washable, which makes maintenance super easy. Overall, these Jumbo pillows are plush, supportive, and great quality for the price. Highly recommend!

Amazingly Comfortable — Like Sleeping in a Luxury Hotel Every Night
Color: White, Size: Queen(Pack of 2)
I rarely write reviews, but these Serta Hotel Collection pillows absolutely deserve one. From the very first night, they felt incredibly comfortable — soft yet supportive in all the right places. I tend to switch between back and side sleeping, and these pillows adjusted perfectly no matter my position. The 400-thread count cotton cover feels smooth and luxurious, and the gusseted edges give just the right amount of lift without feeling stiff. What really surprised me was how easy it was to adjust to them. Usually, it takes a few nights to get used to a new pillow, but I slept soundly from day one — no neck aches, no tossing and turning. They have that “hotel bed” feel — plush, breathable, and restful. Every morning, I wake up feeling like I stayed at a high-end resort. For the quality, comfort, and price, this set is an absolute win. Highly recommend to anyone looking to upgrade their sleep!

Amazing pillows!
Color: White, Size: Queen(Pack of 2)
These are fantastic pillows! A little background. I'm a side sleeper and toss and turn throughout the night. I've struggled with sleep issues for literally decades - insomnia, tossing and turning, waking up multiple times a night to use the bathroom, waking up way too early and not being able to get back to sleep. Every night it's a combo of those things or all of those things. I've also had some neck pain and stiffness for a couple of months. If you've ever dealt with that you know it will affect sleep which will then affect productivity and mood. It's a terrible spiraling and compounding thing to deal with, very stressful. I figured the contour pillow I had which once was actually helping was unfortunately the culprit. So I went on the hunt for another pillow. I ordered what I thought was the old Rejuvenite pillow (those were fabulous!) and got burned on a bait and switch. The pillow ended up being way too soft and gave me worse neck pain. Figuring I'd try to salvage what was a $115 pillow, I invested in a very thin pillow to put underneath. It was too high. Getting pretty frustrated, I ordered the cheaper Utopia pillows here on Amazon. Those actually were not terrible because they did take away my neck pain, but I was still tossing and turning at night and still feeling unrested in the morning. I decided I'd give it one last shot and luckily found these when they were discounted by a few bucks. They didn't have many reviews which was actually a great sign for me because it means the company lets their product speak for itself. I got these in several days and was thrilled to see upon opening the package that they were sealed and the directions do not require you to open the package and let them expand for 24 hours. You literally just take the edges and fluff 2-3 times and that's it! They are ready to go and they definitely do feel perfect after doing that. I was skeptical when I put them on my bed because they are soft and I worried they'd be too soft. I felt my head sink into the pillow a bit and then was surprised to feel at a certain point it just feels like the pillow is cradling your head with the right amount of support. I wouldn't describe it as firm, just soft but stable support. Really comfortable. But the real test was how it would perform during sleep. I'm so thrilled to report that I had an amazing night of sleep! No neck pain, no stiffness, zero tossing and turning, no insomnia, no waking up during the middle of the night, and no waking up early. I put my head down, fell asleep, and slept like a log for about 7.5 hours straight, which is literally unheard of in my world. I'm very lucky if I get 5 solid hours of sleep. I woke up and popped out of bed. My mood was great (still is later in the day) and I was not tired in the afternoon when I normally feel the fatigue kicking in. This is the first day for as long as I can remember that I do not feel that nagging tiredness behind my eyes and in my body that always seems to be a steady background actor in my life. I feel great and full of energy and I was able to tackle a bunch of tasks on my someday list. This is so promising I didn't want to wait to share. If you are on the fence and are dealing with similar issues to mine, I'd encourage you to just try these. What's also amazing is these come in a set. I'm only using one so I basically have another one to use if the first one ever fails. This is the best investment for sleep I've ever made! Update: Well, after a trial period I'm removing a star because my dreamy sleep was short lived. I started to wake up more frequently during the night with these and gave up midway through the night one night. I'm still using these for back support while I sit up or hang out in bed because they are still super comfortable that way and oddly these work well for naps. Hopefully, you have better luck than me!
