Piaget is a luxury watch brand founded in 1874 by Georges Eduard Piaget in La Côte-aux-Fees, Switzerland.
Piaget watches are known for their beauty and fine finishing details. They are characterized by slender cases and sophisticated designs.
It is also known as a pioneer of thin movements, introducing thin manual-winding calibers in 1957 and thin automatic calibers in 1960.
These were designed to be only 2mm thick, an astonishingly thin design for the time.
Piaget is also a brand of fine jewelry, and its watches are also decorated with beautiful gemstones that take advantage of this technology.
This watch is a hand-wound dress watch, the Protocole Ref. 9154 from the 1990s.
Protocole is a word that means "diplomatic ceremonies, liturgy", and there are many watches that are modest but elegant and dignified.
The 18K yellow gold case is nearly square in shape. The case is ultra-thin with a thickness of only 4mm.
The dial is a semi-precious stone dial, a Piaget signature.It has a grayish-blue vertical stripe pattern called "blue tiger eye" or "hawk eye".
The color is a combination of navy blue and dark green.
The color changes depending on the angle and the pattern differs depending on the cut out part, making it a truly unique timepiece.
The color is more subdued than the brownish tiger eye, and the assertion of the color is also moderate.
The movement is the manual wind Cal.9P2, the successor to Piaget's signature ultra-thin Cal.9P movement, which was introduced in 1980.
The thickness is 2.15 mm, only 0.15 mm thicker than the 9P, which has improved its productivity and robustness.
