How do I know if it is compatible?
Check your windlass gypsy for a stamp indicating "6mm DIN" or "6mm ISO". For 6mm chain, both standards are identical in pitch (18.5mm), making this chain highly compatible with almost all metric 6mm windlasses.
What is the benefit of Grade 40 (G40) over Grade 30?
Grade 40 steel has a higher carbon content and undergoes specialized heat treatment, resulting in a breaking strength significantly higher than standard G30 chain. This provides a greater safety margin for your vessel during heavy weather or high tidal flow.
