French Fur Traders and Voyageurs in the American West"Frenchmen were far ahead of Englishmen in the early Far West, not only prior in time but greater in numbers and in historical importance," writes Janet Lecompte in her introduction to French Fur Traders and Voyageurs in the American West. "Frenchmen were far ahead of Englishmen in the early Far West, not only prior in time but greater in numbers and in historical importance," writes Janet Lecompte in her introduction to French Fur Traders and Voyageurs in the American West. They were the first to navigate the Mississippi and its tributaries, and they founded St. Louis and New Orleans. Though France lost her North American possessions in 1763, thousands of her natives remained on the continent. Many of them were voyageurs for Hudson's Bay Company, whose descendants would join American fur trade companies plying the trans-Mississippi West. This volume documents the fact that in the nineteenth century Frenchmen dominated the fur trade in the United States. Twenty-two biographies, collected from LeRoy R. Hafen's classic ten-volume The Mountain Men and the Fur Trade of the Far West, represent a variety of origins and social classes, types of work, and trading areas. Here are trappers who joined John Jacob Astor's ill-fated fur venture on the Pacific, St. Louis traders who hauled goods to Spanish New Mexico along the Santa Fe Trail, and those who traded with Indians in the western plains and mountains.Binding Type: Paperback

MY CHIHUAHUA LOVES THESE BALLS!!
Color: Samll Set of 8
My little chihuahua, BamBam, is addicted to balls, especially little balls that squeak! However, any balls that have material on them, BamBam will tear them apart, swallow the material and then get an upset tummy! These balls saved the day! BamBam LOVES them & she cannot tear them apart! They hold up so well! No matter how much BamBam plays with them, they keep squeaking away!

Perfect squeaky ball. Dogs love them. I love that they're durable and their thickness aids their durability. My Great Dane will play alone for hours with a ball.

They work! Even if you hate socks
I am not a sock wearer. Can't stand having my foot entirely shrouded in cloth. I don't wear socks with my sandals, slides, clogs and other shoes most of the year. Only on the coldest winter days. I know, It's weird. So, with my sock phobia one thing that happens is your heals get dry and rough. I opted to try these because the toes are free. I barely notice the socks on my heels/ankles when my toes get air (outside of bedcovers always). I put good thick lotion on my heels and sides of feet. A little less on the toes so they don't stain anything. The silicone lining on the heel holds that lotion against the affected areas. In a couple days my feet felt soft and looked pretty. No cracks, no white roughness. They look pink and freshly spa-ed. Fit is good on size 9 feet with thickish ankles. Highly recommend.
