Care

General Maintenance: Tillandsias are very hardy and require much less attention than other house plants. Propagation is by seeds or by offsets called "pups" which can be separated when about 2/3 the size of the mother plant.

Temperature: The ideal temperature is 25 - 30 degrees Celsius.

Light: These plants will want plenty of bright indirect sunlight or special indoor lighting. If they do get direct sun for a few hours, be sure to give them extra water to prevent them from drying out.

Watering: Water when the top couple inches of soil are dry, making sure it is evenly moist, but never soggy.

Soil: A well draining potting mix will suffice.

Fertilizer: If your plant needs a little help, give it a basic bromeliad fertilizer once or twice a month, during spring and summer.
