The book ÒExamples of Applied Mathematics in Agriculture and Veterinary ScienceÓ contains four chapters:
1. Maths applied to sowing seed;
2. Mathematics in fertilisation;
3. Combatting the rickettsic disease in cattle;
4. Combatting the disease of coccidiosis in rabbits and chickens.
The content of the book constitutes one of the topics of the subject ÒApplications of Mathematics in the Daily Life of the PopulationsÓ the author taught in the first courses (1977-1979) for mathematics teacher education for grades 5 and 6, organised by the Eduardo Mondlane University, Maputo, Mozambique.
The book was published for the first time in Portuguese in 1982. The Mathematics Commission of the National Education Crisis Committee (NECC) in South Africa published the first English language edition 1990.
