The Baby Bump has nothing to do with becoming a parent. It’s all about enabling you to "bump out" or alter the clay while working in a hollow form or cylinder. Smaller than the Bump, but longer than a typical hand, the Baby Bump is designed to extend the potter’s or sculptor’s reach by up to 13 inches. It gives you the leverage you need to move clay or heal seams where your hand can’t reach.
The Baby Bump's aluminum rod is stiff and shipped straight, but it can be altered to suit your individual need for throwing or hand building clay. It is bendable but not flexible. The idea is to put a bend or curve in it and then leave it. The bump end is made of a dense sponge material with a hard centre.
Note: This is a contouring tool, not a mopping tool.
