PERSON, DIVINITY & NATUREThis systematic study of African belief aims to give the reader more than a scramble of disconnected myths. This systematic study of African belief aims to give the reader more than a scramble of disconnected myths. Africa is viewed as a cultural unity in contrast to anthropological works which emphasize the idea of the diversity of Africa to the extreme. The result of this has been that ancient and traditional African worldviews/belief systems as a whole are seen as historically and geographically unconnected. This is more a personal than a rigid academic view of African systems of thought as a corpus of ideas having some kind of connection. A connection based on certain common truths, they refer to man/woman as beings who are a meaningful part of a mysterious universe.
In eight chapters, the author looks at the topics of Rites of Passage, The Person as Multiple Selves, Number Destiny and Divination, Complementary Opposites in Ethics and Morals, Ancient and Traditional Accounts of the Beginning, Common Elements in African Cosmology, The Supreme Being the Divinities and Spirit Forces, and the Earth and Land in African Thought and Practice. These chapters are detailed examples of analysis and interpretation, as well as representative personal experience, in the articulation and expression of African cosmology. This work opens up new understanding of African cosmology in its presentation of the holistic unit of material and immaterial, visible and invisible - all are understood to be part of an African worldview.

Nicely made and pretty.
Very sweet pair of earrings. I bought blue and pink butterfly earrings. My daughter loves them. They are well made and just the right size for a young person. I will recommend them.

Beautiful earrings that work fantastically with multiple earlobe piercings
I was looking for smaller cute studs in garnet and these are amazing. I have four “regular” piercings going up my earlobes on each side into my cartilage so I prefer to have stud earrings that are small enough to not overlap and crowd, but also be super cute, and these did really well. Despite the size you could still clearly tell they were butterflies and marquise cut gemstones. Because they’re garnets and the marquise cut is slightly shallow for earring purposes, they’re not that DEEP red color people associate with a garnet, but they’re clearly garnets and the slightly brownish tinge from the shallower cuts actually set off my (dyed) red hair beautifully. If you’re more to chestnut brown or redheaded, it’ll probably work in your favor as well. Overall I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a good pair of beautiful and playful gemstone earrings, and heavily recommend them for any adult with more than two lobe piercings that wants to do more than just plain gemstone round studs.

Mom loves them.
I bought these earrings for my Mother as a Mother's Day gift. They are petite (a bit larger than a pencil eraser) and are very nicely made, especially considering the price. The garnets (which are my Mom's birthstones) are rich and beautiful, and the sterling silver is fairly substantial. My Mom wears them at least once a week and has had no issues with fit or allergic reactions of any kind. All in all... perfect for those who like small, understated earrings.

Fine, but small
The earrings are a bit small, like the ratings say, and the color is a bit weak, but they're still okay.
