One of the finest architectural photographers in America, Robert W. Tebbs produced the first photographic survey of Louisiana's plantations in 1926. From those images, now housed in the Louisiana State Museum, and not widely available until now, 119 plates showcasing fifty-two homes are featured here.
Richard Anthony Lewis explores Tebbs's life and career, situating his work along the line of plantation imagery from nineteenth-century woodcuts and paintings to later twentieth-century photographs by John Clarence Laughlin, among others. Providing the family lineage and construction history of each home, Lewis discusses photographic techniques Tebbs used in his alternating panoramic and detail views.
A precise documentarian, Tebbs also reveals a poetic sensibility in the plantation photos. His frequent emphasis on aspects of decay, neglect, incompleteness, and loss lends a wistful aura to many of the images -- an effect compounded by the fact that many of the homes no longer exist. This noticeable vacillation between objectivity and sentiment, Lewis shows, suggests unfamiliarity and even discomfort with the legacy of slavery.
Poised on the brink of social and political reforms, Louisiana in the mid-1920s had made significant strides away from the slave-based agricultural economy that the plantation house often symbolized. Tebbs's Louisiana plantation photographs capture a literal and cultural past, reflecting a burgeoning national awareness of historic preservation and presenting plantations to us anew.
Select plantations included: Ashland/Belle Helene, Avery Island, Belle Chasse, Belmont, Butler-Greenwood, L'Hermitage, Oak Alley, Parlange, Ren Beauregard House, Rosedown, Seven Oaks, Shadows-on-the-Teche, The Shades, and Waverly.

Cute and Comfy
Color: Multicolor B (5-pack), Size: Medium
These are cute and comfy with a great fit. True to size they are cool and comfortable for everyday wear. I was going to order more but the price went up so I'm just waiting for it to go back down to order again.

Not what I’d hoped
Color: Multicolor a (5-pack), Size: Small
The fabric is nice, soft without being overly bulky. The design was almost what I wanted. I’ve been trying to find underwear that won’t ride up and is comfortable to wear under leggings. The fabric has a LOT of stretch around the legs and deforms quickly. Then it rides up and wrinkles. Smaller leg openings might make the difference.

Great & Comfortable
Color: Multicolor B (5-pack), Size: X-Large, Color: Multicolor B (5-pack), Size: X-Large
I have bought 2 packs of this underwear. I love wearing them. They are very comfortable, and the size fits perfectly. I like most of the colors. The Bamboo Cool lettering on the front does come off after washing though. Otherwise the underwear has been great to wear.

Better than woxer imo
Color: Multicolor B (5-pack), Size: Large
I've been buying Woxers, but theyre super expensive for what youre getting. These are similar in feel and style so i switched over. Another nice thing is i dont have to deal with wedgies like i do with the woxers. Theyre not perfect for wearing when its hot, youre still gunna sweat and these dont wick away sweat super well. But i havent seen many brands that do, and these are not the worst. Im 5'7" and 145lbs and these are comfy and tight enough but not snug. They still leave a bit of indentation on the love handles. You CAN tell that youre wearing them under pant if they are tight.

A Traditional Tee that's Fun to Wear
Size: Large, Color: Navy, Size: Large, Color: Navy
Here is a classic fitting tee-shirt that combines a soft feel along with a rugged outdoor look. A top priority for me is comfort and this graphic tee is 100 percent cotton that moisture-wicks sweat away and is non-itchy! Made by Pioneer Camp, the navy blue top is a good fit in medium that is not too tight nor baggy. Staying cool is important and the micro-ventilation fabric is wonderful whether I'm at the gym doing aerobics or running errands. There is a Mont Blanc graphic logo that adorns the upper right corner of this tee, however, it's small and unobtrusive. So, whether you are into hiking, traveling, yoga or just lounging, here's a short sleeve tee that delivers.
