issue #29. It was the first Monte Hale comic, but Fawcett picked up the numbering sequence

The Fawcett issues had beautiful photo covers Initially. Carl Pfeufer, best known for his exciting
work on FawcettÕs TOM MIX, drew MonteÕs stories with an inking assist from John Jordan. The
series lasted until issue #82. Charlton then published six issues, but they were reprints of the
Fawcett issues.
This book was compiled with the best images currently available. That stated, these
comics are seventy years old. The best efforts have been made to make the pages
as enjoyable as possible but not every panel is perfect and some allowances for the
age of the books need to be considered when judging the overall contents.
