Conspiracy of Silence: Sportswriters and the Long Campaign to Desegregate BaseballThe campaign to desegregate baseball was one of the most important civil rights stories of the 1930s and 1940s. But most of white America knew nothing about this story because mainstream newspapers said little about the color line and less about the efforts to end it. Even today, as far as most Americans know, the integration of baseball revolved around Branch Rickey's signing of Jackie Robinson to the Brooklyn Dodgers' organization in 1945. This book
The campaign to desegregate baseball was one of the most important civil rights stories of the 1930s and 1940s. This book shows how Rickey's move, critical as it may well have been, came after more than a decade of work by black and left-leaning journalists to desegregate the game.Drawing on hundreds of newspaper articles and interviews with journalists, Chris Lamb reveals how differently black and white newspapers, and black and white America, viewed racial equality. He shows how white mainstream sportswriters perpetuated the color line by participating in what their black counterparts called a "conspiracy of silence." Between 1933 and 1945, black newspapers and the Communist Daily Worker published hundreds of articles and editorials calling for an end to baseball's color line. The efforts of the alternative presses to end baseball's color line, chronicled for the first time in Conspiracy of Silence, constitute one of baseball's--and the civil rights movement's--great untold stories.

Stays put and does the job
Style: Contempo
I hate clutter. That includes my sink area. This holds my oxo scrubber and a sponge with ease. It also lets everything drain nice so there is no issue with slime or smell that other caddies have. Looks nice and amazingly the suction cups work. So far the finish is holding up and for what it is, it does its job. Looks nice.

Great caddy. Well built.
Color: Black, Color: Black
This is a great caddy for my sink items. Holds the dishwashing liquid, hand soap, sponge, brush and still has room for more. The only suggestion is to allow the brush cage to also be above the drip pan so you have more space. I know I can add the brush cage into the main compartment to drain it but I prefer the extra space. This is very sturdy and is the perfect width and height for many sinks.

Well made, well thought out!
Color: Black
I like that the caddy has a bottom and that the drain is movable. The adjustable separator is also a plus and I can move the tall attachment inside so that I can keep my wet brush there and it will drain into the sink.

Good organizer!
Color: Black, Color: Black
This is perfect for keeping all my sponges and brushes all in one place! I love when things feel more organized. I also really like how the excess water drains out of the bottom back into the sink!
