Mendlesohn posits four categories of fantasy--portal-quest, immersive, intrusion, and liminal--that arise out of the relationship of the protagonist to the fantasy world. Using these sets, Mendlesohn argues that the author's stylistic decisions are then shaped by the inescapably political demands of the category in which they choose to write. Each chapter covers at least twenty books in detail, ranging from nineteenth-century fantasy and horror to extensive coverage of some of the best books in the contemporary field. Great Divider
Comes assembled. It is heavy, but fairly easy to move and use. I’m 5’4, 110 and I can do it myself. It’s thick, it’s tall, it looks good, not sloppy or cheap. Doesn’t smell. Great room divider. We use it for our office between our desks.

Good purchase

I bought this in white for use in a finished basement to hide equipment on the wall and create a nice space to place a bed. Because it doesn’t need to be moved and the room is temperature controlled, I expect it to last for a long time. The screen is pretty and I like that the woven material is not easily breakable. I’m pleased with the purchase.
