It has been 24 years since Slim Cessna parted ways with The Denver Gentlemen, that grand progenitor of the peculiar strain of Gothic Americana unique to the Mile High City, to form Slim Cessna's Auto Club with a group of talented peers. Many bands with a long and successful run like that would stick close to it's roots. But rather than rest on well-earned laurels, the Auto Club challenged itself to break with well worn modes of operating for the new record. The title evokes the themes of cosmic punishment and redemption that have served the band's songwriting engine so well in the past. But this set of songs sounds more hopeful and expansive, a quality that was always there but this time out the brighter sides of the songwriting are emphasized. Hints of this saw early full-flown expression on 2008's Cipher and Unentitled from 2011. With The Commandments, however, the Auto Club seems to step forward into the promise of it's own possibilities. It remains capable of the heady darkness and celebratory intensity with which it made it's name. Now that charmingly dusky and spare sound breathes with a color and delicacy of feeling that perhaps sat in the background in times past. Maybe it's partly due to the greater creative contributions from longtime collaboratorRebecca Vera and The Peeler or the inclusion of upright bass player Ian O'Dougherty. But the core of the band's songwriting and sound is anchored firmly in the vision of Slim, Munly Munly and Lord Dwight Pentacost.

Best dog toys
Color: 5 Pack Corduroy, Color: 5 Pack Corduroy
These are hands down the best dog toys. My dog loves to play fetch and tug with them and they hold up. They obviously don’t last forever but every other toy brand (bark and kong) tear within one play session and cost double the price.
Like I said, they won’t last forever but they have been the most durable and fun toys for my dog to play with.

Love this assortment of fun plush dog toys!

My Yorkshire terrier just turned a year old, and this assortment of plush toys was his b-day gift. They have been a hit! We both like the soft, corduroy-like fabric and squeakers. Though the description says that these are good for medium or large dogs, I'd say they are a good size for small to medium-sized dogs. He's a 4-lb dog, and I'd say that these are a good size for him.
My sister's 14-lb Shorkie has the purple dinosaur, and it's been his favorite toy since he took it from a dog sitter 2.5 years ago. He can usually tear soft toys up in 1-2 days. My little guy tears up some soft plush toys in 5-7 days. He's had these for a week now, and so far, so good. They appear to be sturdy. Time will tell… Loving them so far!

Sturdy and cute

I have a husky mix puppy, 6 mos. It’s been about a month now and though a few are a little tattered and one has a squeaker that is almost dead ; they are all whole ! This is with her playing with them all day everyday. They are super cute too. Would buy again
