The pitch black Onyx dial is excellent showing no visible wear, chipping, blemishes or cracking. All three of the no-lume hands are excellent and appear to be original to the watch. It is also worth noting that the sapphire crystal on this Day-Date is the original Rolex one (no aftermarket crystal), this means it has the correct 2.5 times magnification for the cyclops, which optimizes the way one reads the date. Another stunning feature of this Onyx dial are those thick and smooth gold edges around the day and date windows, these are the kinds of details that really provide depth to that mysterious black dial that just keeps dragging you in..

In a nutshell, this is an extremely rare and all-original 18038 Onyx Day-Date with original T SWISS T dial, which are becoming increasingly difficult to find as most Onyx dials today, are the more new ‘Swiss Made’ ones.
