Filtering a sample prior to sample injection into analytical instrumentation will help protect sensitive parts of the instrument from particulate build-up and reduce system downtime. Sample filtration using syringe filters containing 0.45 μm (HPLC) or 0.2 μm (UHPLC) pore size membranes will also extend the life of chromatography columns by preventing particulate from blocking the flow path between the column packing. Pall’s Acrodisc One PSF Syringe Filters with wwPTFE membranes have been designed to protect analytical instrumentation and improve the reliability of results. wwPTFE membrane devices are chemically compatible with a wide variety of common solvents and are suitable for use in both aqueous and organic applications. These syringe filters are constructed with solvent compatible polypropylene material. The polypropylene plastic provides the syringe filter with exceptional strength, it is the highest grade of plastic with minimal additives and passes United States Pharmacopeia (USP) Biological Reactivity Test, In Vivo <88> plastics testing. Both the wwPTFE membrane and polypropylene housing are extremely low in levels of potential extractables that can lead to chromatographic interference. The devices are low in protein and API binding which make them ideal for drug studies, such as dissolution testing. The GxF/wwPTFE membrane configuration features a a GxF multi-layer glass fiber prefilter, providing two to four times the throughput of standard prefilter devices. The multi-layer prefilter captures particulate rated from > 40 to 1 μm.Shipping Notes

Unlock your machine's potential
***Twist the WDT tool to remove dont try to just pull, or use your finger nails A slight twist will break the magnetic bond and the tool just comes out of the handle***
i got this to get away chemicals, hot acidic coffee possibly leaching plastic and aluminum that the stock portifilter is made from. This seems like a nice stainless by the looks and heft of it. Aluminium is bad for the brain and plastic is just bad.
Function... Im not using a 200$ or more grinder or anything... Just fresh beans and a 30$ wancle amazon burr grinder and this is pulling beautiful bottomless shots that really helped me dial in better and see my channeling issues that intern lets me adjust and get better.
The stock tapered basket prevents consistant tamps and keeps you from using off the shelf filter papers at the bottom of the basket.
i have to use a gram or 2 more for my dose but that just means stronger drinks. I can tell visually im getting more extraction now that im dialed in by the color after adding milk.

It doesn’t even fit
It doesn’t fit our Breville Barista Pro because the portafilter head is too tall. Such a disappointment.
Update: Absolutely horrible customer support as well. Their only attempt to rectify the situation was by double checking their own portafilter they have and confirming it works. It’s equivalent of “we investigated ourselves and found nothing wrong.” No replacements, no willingness to accept constructive criticism in order to change the dimensions slightly by decreasing the height of the portafilter head by even a millimeter to make it work, nothing. Just a slap in the face telling me to return it and be gone. Avoid this product.

More work than it’s worth
It was great quality and the weight was nice, but it was odd having the open bottom and no spout to dribble into a cup when making an espresso. It was difficult to get the wire tool out of the end of the handle, making it difficult to use. I was not that impressed and it’s quite expensive.

Quality and Function
Looks like a silly little thing, I am not a coffee enthusiast. But it does exactly what it is supposed to do and with high quality. The device (a stretch to call it that) is made of sturdy materials including the needles. They give you two different thicknesses of needles, one for expressi (0.3) and one set for coffee grinds (0.4). Each comes wth some spares. The stand is well designed and keeps grinds from spreading all over. It is very elegant design. I use this with a dosing funnel on my portafilter. Not the cheapest one could buy but well worth the money.
