The Panther Ausf.G was the final and most refined version of the famous German Panther tank, entering production in 1944. It featured improved armour protection, a redesigned hull with a strengthened glacis, and a number of simplified production features that allowed it to be built in greater numbers. Armed with the long-barrelled 7.5cm KwK 42 L/70 gun, the Panther Ausf.G was capable of destroying even the heaviest Allied armour at long range, while its mobility and firepower made it one of the most formidable tanks of the Second World War. The late production variant introduced further refinements such as the chin mantlet and, in some vehicles, the use of steel road wheels.

Das Werk’s 1/35 scale kit faithfully captures the imposing look and fine details of this late-war variant. The model features an authentically rendered hull and turret, link-and-length tracks that replicate the correct sag, and optional details such as the chin mantlet and late-style exhausts. Photo-etched parts are included to enhance realism, and a selection of marking options allows modelers to recreate vehicles from German Army units in the final battles of the war. Whether built as a standalone display piece or placed in a diorama, this kit offers an impressive and historically accurate representation of one of WWII’s most iconic tanks.

Now what?
Format: Hardcover
I am a student (not scholar) of WW II history mostly because of the many men and women in my family who served in this war. Holland and Murray bring a new experience to WW II reporting. We know that surrenders happened, and when and where. But this book gives the reader the "then what happened" ? and named individuals and told of their experiences while they struggled to figure out "what next?". They are lucky to be alive but confused as if they were experiencing an altogether new "battle" asking What shall we do? where shall we go, where will we be safe, how do we live now? This is a fascinating view of the joy and the terror and the miracle of having survived.

Format: Kindle
Enjoyed reading the detailed accounts of all the participants bringing the end of conflicts. Unconditional surrender was the guiding principle of the Allied forces.
