The Gauntlet is a two player simulation of the battle of Chongchon in North Korea 1950, where the Chinese stopped the United Nations offensive and retook the North Korean capital of Pyonguang nearly overrunning the UN Eighth Army.  The counters are mostly regimental\battalion (1,500 to 5,000 men with each division 8-18,000 ment, and each air unit 30-50 sorties).  The rules include armor, fog of war, infiltration tactics, surprise attacks, bridge demolition, and an air system.  The scenarios are On to Pyongyang and On to the Yalu? along with a half dozen options such as a Chinese challenge to UN air superiority and the U.S. commiting emergency reinforcements.  Victory points are gained for controlling  territory, eliminating units, and exiting units off the southern edge of the map.

Not that great
Huge "The Simpsons" fan. I watched all the episodes and read a lot of the comics and enjoy most. This one however was quite boring. Turns out I'm just not a big fan of Chief Wiggum. I really enjoyed The "Homer" and "Bart" book. But not this one. Maybe if you love Wiggum you'll love it. If you're not too fond of him then I wouldn't buy it.

Good for my collection.
Format: Hardcover
This was another quick and entertaining read. This instalment wasn't as enjoyable as some of the other books but it was still good. I'm glad to have it in my collection.

Funny and unexpected
Format: Hardcover
I bought this book for my girlfriend who is a big Ralph Wiggum fan. When it arrived, I was shocked to see what a thorough exploration of the character it was. I'm not saying it's all canon in terms of the show, as i saw some complaints that there was stuff in this book that wouldn't make sense to the Ralph character (such as his love for Lisa) due to them "breaking up" in a past episode, but come on, that's a hogwash complaint. The whole point of this book is to entertain, and it does so in spades, so it comes highly recommended. And this is coming from a huge 'The Simpsons' fan himself. Oh, and by the way, my girlfriend loved it, too.
