The story of MoMA's sculpture garden

The Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden at the Museum of Modern Art holds a special place in the hearts of many, whether artists or museumgoers, New Yorkers or visitors from around the world. It is a respite from the crowds and skyscrapers that surround it, as well as a place to commune with major works of modern and contemporary art.

Through essays and archival images, this lavishly illustrated volume pays tribute to the Sculpture Garden's beauty and remarkable history over the past 80 years. Oasis in the City: The Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden at The Museum of Modern Art features the sculptures that have become synonymous with the space, Philip Johnson's elegant and enduring design, and the Garden's diverse array of activities and events. From its inception in 1939, the Sculpture Garden--which launched the very concept of the garden as outdoor gallery for changing installations--has hosted exhibitions of sculpture by Alexander Calder, structures by Buckminster Fuller and Marcel Breuer, performances by Yayoi Kusama, and served as an important venue for music, dance, social gatherings and even protest.

Along with offering a behind-the-scenes history, this unique publication debuts a portfolio of images of the Sculpture Garden by eight prominent contemporary artists and photographers: Richard Pare, Candida H fer, Tina Barney, Thomas Struth, Carrie Mae Weems, James Welling, Vera Lutter and Hiroshi Sugimoto. These projects demonstrate that while the outdoor gallery is constantly changing with the seasons, new programming, and rotations of art on display, it continues to be an inspiration to artists and the broader public alike.

Paid for new, received used.
Size: 9.5 Wide, Color: Cognac, Size: 9.5 Wide, Color: Cognac
Arrived dirty as if someone whore it for more than a few days. Maybe I was mistaken, but I saw nothing about “previously used” on the Amazon page. Returned it. I would suggest that the company use quality control when it comes to shipping. The shoes seem find otherwise. I ordered 9.5 and it was just a bit tight. If I reorder I will go for size 10.

Decent Shoes with Misleading Description (Not Leather)
Size: 12 Wide, Color: Black, Size: 12 Wide, Color: Black
I only look for leather when I’m purchasing dress shoes. Under the description “details” on this item it lists the shoe as leather upper and inner lining. A photo shows “genuine Napa leather lining”. If you keep reading (which I have now that I’ve received the shoes) it shows “faux leather” in the small print and that is not “leather”. I run a small leather business and this irks me because it’s clearly false advertising. The details also show the product is made in Brazil but when they arrived today, the shoe tag shows “Made in China” and “Man Made upper and lower”. I don’t hate the shoes. They look nice. What I know is they won’t hold up over time like leather, which is why the description should be accurate and not misleading.

Perfect buy!
Fit Type: Regular, Size: Large, Color: White
This white denim jacket came today, and finally I bought the perfect jacket! It's actual denim, heavy but not too bulky. It fits perfectly, I bought a large, it's white not off white, and it is EXACTLY what I was looking for! I had to wait a week or two but it is definitely worth the wait! Beautiful jacket, well made and at a decent price! Thanks Amazon Essentials!

Love denim and tired of cropped jackets?
Fit Type: Oversized, Size: Large, Color: Medium Blue Vintage
I like this a lot, it was what I was looking for as far as I'm so over everything you buy these days is cropped. Cropped styles are great, but are kind of getting old for some things in my opinion. The jacket is big as far as how it fits. I am 5'8" about 180 and I wish I would have got a medium, I got a large. The large is big and roomy enough that I could even wear ear a thick hoodie under it if I wanted to. However, the length is good as what I was looking for. The upper arms are large. However, this is a great quality denim jacket. Nice and thick, sturdy material (which I wanted). It's also at a great, competitive low price even if it's not on sale. Don't believe me, go ahead and search jean jackets. You'll see a ton, but I looked too and the quality did not look as good as this and plus the other jackets were a lot more for a lot less. If you're looking for a longer jean jacket, I highly recommend this. I'd say just think seriously about sizing down 1... even maybe 2 sizes. I would have gotten an XL before I read the other reviews. They recommended to size down, and after getting my jacket I could have sized down to a medium. I'm still happy with it and this is a jacket that is stitched well and will last a very long time. As always though, that's just my 2 cents. :)
