About the Author

Before the COVID-19 pandemic Madelyn Day devoted much of her time to transporting rescue dogs from high-kill shelters in Houston to Austin, where she helped match them with loving families. Day also cares deeply about her local community, often bringing food to people experiencing homelessness—along with supplies for their pets.

When she is not writing, she can usually be found with a crochet project in hand, a good book nearby, or her eyes turned toward the stars. She has a lifelong passion for astronomy, science, and history, and she also loves weaving curiosity and compassion into everything she does.
