The Blackmagic Design Spares - Camera PCC6K - PCB Battery is the internal power interface board for the original Pocket Cinema Camera 6K (EF mount). This specific board acts as the mounting point and electronic regulator for the LP-E6 battery system.

While the "Power Assembly Cable" is the wiring that moves the electricity, the Battery PCB is the rigid board that contains the physical contact pins and the "handshake" logic for the battery.

Functional Role

The Battery PCB is the primary gateway for portable power in the 6K:

  • Terminal Contact: Houses the spring-loaded metal pins that interface with the terminals of an LP-E6 or LP-E6N battery.

  • Voltage Regulation: Filters the raw battery voltage to ensure it is clean and stable before it reaches the sensitive Main PCB.

  • Battery Identification: Contains the circuitry that allows the camera to read the battery's internal chip, providing the "percentage" or "voltage" readout on the top-right of your LCD.

  • Power Switching: Works in conjunction with the DC input to handle the "seamless switch" from battery to AC power when the camera is plugged in.

When to Replace the Battery PCB

This board is prone to physical wear and environmental damage because it is located inside the battery compartment:

  • Bent or Broken Pins: If a battery was forced in backwards or a foreign object entered the compartment, the pins can snap. These are soldered directly to this PCB, so the whole board is typically replaced.

  • Corrosion from Leaky Batteries: If a low-quality third-party battery leaks or "vents" inside the camera, the chemicals will eat through the traces on this PCB first.

  • "No Battery" Error: If the camera works on DC power but shows a "cross" over the battery icon even with a known-good LP-E6, the logic chip on this board has likely failed.

  • Thermal Damage: High-frame-rate recording generates heat. If the battery compartment gets excessively hot, the solder joints on the battery terminals can become "cold" or brittle, leading to intermittent power loss.

Key Features

  • Genuine OEM Part: Designed specifically for the LP-E6 voltage range ($7.2\text{V}$ to $8.4\text{V}$).

  • Low Resistance: High-quality gold-plated contacts to prevent power loss and heat buildup during long takes.

  • Direct Fit: Screws directly into the chassis standoffs located behind the battery door.

Technical Installation Note

Replacing the Battery PCB is a Level 2 repair, requiring you to open the camera's rear shell.

  1. Access: You must remove the back panel of the camera. Be extremely cautious of the fixed LCD ribbon cable—it is very short and can tear if the back panel is pulled away too quickly.

  2. Cable Seating: This board connects to the Power Assembly Cable via a small multi-pin connector. Ensure this is fully "clicked" in; if it’s loose, the camera might turn on but fail to show the battery percentage.

  3. Alignment: When screwing the PCB back in, ensure the pins are perfectly centered in the battery slot. If they are slightly off-center, you will feel resistance when trying to slide a battery in, which can damage the new pins.

  4. Static Safety: Like all URSA/Pocket internals, this board is ESD sensitive. Touch a grounded metal object before handling the board to avoid frying the logic chips.

Expert Tip: Before ordering a replacement, use a Q-tip with a tiny bit of 99% Isopropyl Alcohol to clean the pins. Sometimes a thin layer of oxidation or "battery juice" prevents a good connection, and a simple cleaning can restore functionality!

Are you experiencing a total failure to recognize batteries, or is the camera just losing power whenever you move it?

Good image quality
Set name: Sublimation Printer
Has good print quality and has worked well. I like the tray paper feed for regular size and that I can use the back paper feed set up for my mug sized sublimation paper. I had considered converting an ink jet to a sublimation, but for a little more decided to try this. Glad I did. Set up was pretty easy and I'm happy with the color quality and accuracy. I wasn't sure when I first saw the print out, but once the sublimation was doen, it was great.

Great value
Set name: Sublimation Printer
This is my first sublimation printer and I am very happy with this printer. The photos that I have printed have been very good quality and vibrant colors and have applied really well to the sublimation blanks I have used. I like that it will self clean the heads as long as the printer power is on. It was important to me to get an actual sublimation printer in order to have the warranty on it. The printer works with the Artspira app. This app is only available on a smart phone or tablet. It is very difficult to design on such a small screen. Brother needs to have a program that will work on a computer to make designing easier. I did gave difficulties getting my phone to connect to the printer after I designed my work on the very small screen. I used the chat feature on the Brother site and they were able to help me get it connected in order to print.

NOt good... not great... horrible
Set name: Sublimation Printer
I’m thoroughly disappointed with the Brother Sublimation Printer and would not recommend it. Out of the box, the setup process was more complex than anticipated, with unclear instructions and frequent errors. The print quality was inconsistent, with colors often coming out dull or inaccurate, despite multiple attempts at calibration. I experienced frequent paper jams, which disrupted my workflow and wasted a lot of materials. The printer’s software is buggy and doesn’t integrate well with other design programs, making it frustrating to use. The connectivity options were unreliable, causing frequent disconnections and delays. Additionally, the printer is quite noisy during operation, which can be distracting and bothersome. The build quality feels flimsy and not as durable as I expected. The customer support experience was also poor, with slow response times and unhelpful solutions. I faced issues with ink usage, as the cartridges seemed to run out quickly, leading to higher operational costs. The sublimation prints didn’t have the sharp, vibrant quality I was hoping for, making my final products look less professional. The lack of clear troubleshooting guides added to the frustration. The printer’s design is bulky and takes up more space than I anticipated. Overall, this Brother Sublimation Printer has been a letdown in terms of performance, reliability, and ease of use. I regret investing in this product and would advise looking for alternatives.
