Your cat’s enclosure can grow beyond a simple window catio! Have your window enclosure part of a larger catio system providing easy access to another enclosure, a transition between multiple enclosures (easily mounted to windows, walls, or fences), and much more! 

When you are ready to expand, it’s affordable and easy to add to Habitat Haven components. You can include tunnels, stairs, bridges, hammocks, awnings, and more to accessorize your cat’s window enclosure.

Important Details

Make sure when ordering the window catio box that it clears your window frame by at least 6" (inches) all around. Allow the 6" lip to properly fit around the surrounding surface so that it is secured. All window enclosures come with a cedar floor included. Additional doors, shelving, and colorful canvas awnings are not included but are available for purchase separately.

Your cat’s window enclosure will arrive partially assembled to ensure safe and secure shipping. Instructions will be provided for easy assembly from there.

To ensure maximum flexibility during installation, Build Your Own Kit enclosures do not come with ready-made entry point holes for connection with other components. Entry points can be created on-site during the installation. This allows easy connection with tunnels, towers, bridges, stairs, and other components. These systems are designed for maximum flexibility during setup.

Please note that for Build Your Own Window Enclosure orders, wooden shelves and canvas awnings are sold separately.

To keep our catio components at a low cost, every part of the fabrication process has been streamlined. Any customizations you would like to make may take manual review, planning, and fabrication. We’re happy to do it, but it may affect the overall cost. Please contact us for details if you require customizations.

Assembly and Installation

Your window catio enclosures will arrive partially assembled and flat packed on a pallet. The assembly instructions provided are straightforward. They are designed to be easy to follow for anyone who would consider themselves "handy”. We recommend at least two able-bodied people be present for the installation. Basic carpentry knowledge and assembly experience are also helpful.

Clips meant to secure the cage of the window enclosure together will be provided. A special plier tool for closing the clips is provided with each enclosure order.

Once unpacked, arrange your cat’s window enclosure at or near the assembly site. Using the provided 3-prong clips and specialty pliers, set the edges of your enclosure in order to connect them. Continue this step until you have a fully-enclosed and free-standing enclosure.

At this point, the enclosure can be attached to the desired structure or building as necessary. After you securely attach the enclosure to the structure/building, you can create openings in the enclosure. These openings connect to tunnels, stairs, or other accessory components as needed. Please note that window catio enclosures do not come with ready-made holes. They are meant to be created during assembly installation. This allows for the greatest flexibility and smallest chance of errors.

Your cat’s window enclosure is made to order, meaning that it’s constructed by hand just for your cat. It goes through a series of steps before it is ready for shipping. The estimated delivery date stated on this page is an estimate for the total construction time involved. In some cases, the item may be ready sooner, and on rare occasions, it may take more time. We will do our best to get the item delivered to you as fast as possible without delays. You will be notified via email when your order is ready to ship.
