The Fujifilm X-A1 is a mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera built around a 16.3-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor (23.6 × 15.6 mm) delivering high-resolution stills and Full HD 1080p video at 30 fps. It uses the Fujifilm X-mount, compatible with a wide range of Fujinon XF and XC lenses.

The camera employs a hybrid contrast-detection autofocus system with multiple focus points and continuous shooting up to 5.6 fps. The ISO range of 200–6400, expandable to 100–25,600, provides flexibility in varied lighting conditions.

It features a 3.0-inch tilting LCD monitor with 920k-dot resolution, offering accurate framing and playback. Image processing is handled by the EXR Processor II, ensuring fast startup and responsive operation.

Connectivity includes built-in Wi-Fi for wireless image transfer and remote control via compatible devices. The body design follows the compact X-series style with manual dials for exposure control, maintaining a tactile shooting experience.
The X-A1 records to SD/SDHC/SDXC cards, powered by a NP-W126 lithium-ion battery, and provides RAW + JPEG capture, customizable film simulation modes, and precise white balance adjustment, emphasizing imaging flexibility in a lightweight, portable form factor.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
