It burned hot and bright like thermite used to bust a safe open, but now is the age of radiating waves, each one buckles the foundation more than the last.Recorded live in single takes in the Texas hill country by Danny Reisch (Shearwater), this is their clearest, most focused work to date. The rhythm section is locked in-a night train through the desert. There is more singing, the weary wisdom of the lyrics ringing like Tibetan bowls. In 38 minutes, Pure X weave a culmination, all the delays and distortion, the grinding mortar of touring, the low-tide pulling them out from a cult band, to a legacy band, it's here, understood and forgiven.The album's cover (designed by long time collaborator Christopher Royal King) depicts a coffin necklace set against a wide open blue sky. It's as if we carry our mortality like a pendant on a chain. Learning to own up and accept ourselves through self reflection. It would be understandable to express such forbidden fatalism in a brittle, harsh nihilism, the stark echo of a stone rattling down an endless well. But on this album, their fourth and first in six years, there is a pre-dawn kindness. It may be funereal, but it is a Viking pyre ablaze in the middle of a river, one of those moments when the water seems to pause and reflect the clouds blooming like smoke from an invisible glass pipe.01. These socks were so well reviewed that I didn't quite believe my boyfriend when he said they wouldn't fit his size 11 feet.
So I went and tried them on my own women's size 7 feet and yeah, no. Maybe the arch & heel part could stretch to accommodate his feet (but it would be stretched quite thin) but the toe part is already very snug on my short little toes, there's absolutely no way they'd fit his gangly toes.
So I looked at the package to make sure we hadn't been sent the wrong size, only to see "size 8 - 15" on the barcode. So it turns out it doesn't matter what size you pick, this is a one size fits all situation, and that size does not fit the long toes of a tall man's size 11 feet

Quality not as expected

Upon opening the socks looked all right they fit well, but I questioned the durability. Unfortunately, within a few weeks, the stitching started to separate and now their are holes in most of the socks rendering them useless.

Comfy and Warm

I'm very happy with these Original Slipper Socks. I normally wear a 6 1/2, so got these in XS/6 1/2-7 1/2. They are a little long on my feet, but they'll do. I'd rather have them be a little long than a little short, and perfectly sized slippers seem almost impossible to find these days. These slipper socks have a nice, comfy wide toe box, and the cushioned sole is soft, warm, and comfy. The suede on the bottom of the sole make these quiet and very comfy to wear around the house. The wool sock uppers are not itchy, but as comfy as a pair of warm socks.

Perfect for cool weather ...

I see a lot of complaints about fit and outdoor use of these ... I mean, these are slipper socks for indoor use! These are not shoes! If you want to walk outside in the snow, put on shoes or boots and then go outside ...
I have two pair of these and they are great! I really like the real leather soles and foam insole, instead of the cheap plastic soles that are sold on most house shoes ... They were a little tight on my ankles when new, but they relaxed a bit and fit perfectly now.
These are perfect for letting the TV watch you, sauntering, meandering, posing, consuming hot beverages, midnight strolls through the house, napping and all sorts of other indoor inactivity ...
It has been a few years, and I must say, my Acorn's are still working strong. It is about 60 degrees inside, and I'm working in the garage on a cold concrete slab. The red stripes look especially special with my Adidas sweat pants.
