Some have stood for over a century, marking the sites of the Dakota War of 1862. Others, more recent, enhance the interstate highways with brief, informative histories of Red River trails, immigrant communities, and important industries.Each entry includes the location of the marker or monument along the state's highways and county roads. For the traveler's ease of use, the entries are grouped by region and by county and many photographs convey a sense of the history to be found at these places.
