On their sophomore album Bambi, St. Paul, Minnesota-bred bang Hippo Campus offer up a self-reflective set of songs that drift into much darker terrain, but unfold with a frenetic yet fragile beauty that makes even the most painful moments feel glorious. Partly recorded at Steve Albini's Electrical Audio in Chicago, Bambi finds Hippo Campus working again with producer BJ Burton (Bon Iver, Low, Francis and the Lights), who handled production on their 2017 full-length debut Landmark. And in sculpting Bambi's distinctly inventive arrangements, Hippo Campus significantly expanded their use of drum machines and synths. Throughout Bambi, Hippo Campus match their relentless self-examination with a joyfully adventurous sonic approach, ultimately transforming the emotional experience of the problems they're exploring. On "Anxious," urgent rhythms and untamed vocal delivery draw an unlikely power from raw vulnerability. Meanwhile, on the album's title track, Hippo Campus's otherworldly vocals, delicate guitar lines, and sweetly determined lyrics have a strangely uplifting effect. And on "Mistakes," the band's choir-like harmonies and ethereal tones make for a haunting contrast to their meditation on the idea of "wanting to be the best you can for the people you love, but feeling like you can't really carry that out," as Jake Luppen puts it.

Great for a gaming laptop!

Great product is you want to mount any size laptop under your desk. I used it for my Alienware gaming laptop and it's fantastic! The three points of contact hold the laptop securely, while allowing maximum airflow for the fans. The three "clamps" are rock solid and will definitely outlive the laptop. The installation was simple and easy, just need a drill.

under desk laptop system

Reclaimed real desk space with this one. The mount holds the laptop securely underneath without any vibration or creaking and the installation required no drilling — clamped cleanly to the desk edge. The ventilation spacing is generous enough that thermals stay reasonable even under load. Works with a solid range of laptop sizes and the adjustment mechanism is easy to use. If your laptop spends most of its time docked this is the cleanest way to get it out of the way.

Works great, but pads are peeling.

Works for what I needed, which was to mount my work laptop to the side of my desk. However, the rubber pads started peeling the first day. I tried clamping them down overnight, but they still ended up peeling up. They haven't come off completely and are still working, though. I may have to glue them down.

Quality product.

First of all it's made of metal so, I won't worry about accidentally breaking it and dropping my laptop. It came with adhesive rubber pads that fit inside the brackets, which is a nice touch for helping not to scratch up the laptop. It makes a huge difference to help declutter the desktop space.
