Six Questions Your Budget Franchise Financial Model Must Answer

We built this franchise business plan financial model using deep research into mobile service unit economics to ensure your projections are grounded in reality. The model comes pre-populated with data for residential repairs and property contracts, showing a Year 1 EBITDA of $76,000 and a path to $577,000 by Year 5. All inputs, from the $50,000 franchise fee to the specific technician headcount, are fully editable to match your local Austin or Mueller district market conditions.

What is theprofitability trajectory?

The unit hits positive EBITDA almost immediately, with a break-even date of January 2026. While Year 1 net profit is modest after accounting for the $50,000 franchise fee and $160,000 in vehicles, the model shows EBITDA margins expanding significantly as you scale from 2 to 4.5 field technicians by Year 5. This franchise unit profitability projection spreadsheet defintely shows that scale is the key to moving from a job to a real business.

Profit Growth

  • Maximize tech billable hours
  • Bundle property maintenance contracts
  • Lower fuel costs via routing
[dynamic_pic9]

How much capitalis required and how is it allocated?

You will need a significant capital stack to launch, with the model showing a minimum cash requirement of $683,000 by late 2026. This covers your initial $50,000 fee, $160,000 for the service fleet, and $100,000 for the office fit-out. Estimating labor and fleet costs for a franchise is critical here, as these represent your largest upfront and ongoing cash drains before the loyalty program revenue kicks in.

Funding Needs

  • Service Vehicles: $160,000
  • Office Fitout: $100,000
  • Tools and Equipment: $80,000
  • Franchise Fee: $50,000
[dynamic_pic10]

What is thereturn on investment?

The model projects a 5-year payback period with an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 2.49%. While the IRR might look lean initially, the Return on Equity (ROE) of 1.03 and the jump to $577,000 in annual EBITDA by Year 5 suggest strong long-term value. This financial model for mobile service franchises focuses on the build-up of equity in the fleet and the recurring revenue from property contracts.

Investor Returns

  • 5-Year Payback Period
  • 2.49% Project IRR
  • 1.03 Return on Equity
[dynamic_pic11]

What is thebreak-even point?

Break-even occurs in the very first month of operations, provided you hit the $240,000 Year 1 target for residential repairs. The primary driver for staying above break-even is managing the 7.5% royalty and the labor costs for your lead technician and dispatcher. This franchise unit operating budget template shows that even small dips in technician productivity can push your break-even revenue requirement much higher.

Break-even Levers

  • Control service material waste
  • Optimize dispatcher scheduling
  • Maintain 1.5% payment fees
[dynamic_pic12]

What is thecash runway and lowest cash point?

The lowest cash point occurs in December 2026 at $683,000, reflecting the heavy upfront CAPEX for vehicles and scheduling software. You need to maintain a solid cash buffer to handle the ramp-up of field technicians, as payroll for a team of five grows quickly. How to forecast revenue for a local franchise accurately is vital so you don't over-hire before the residential repair demand matures.

Cash Management

  • Phase vehicle branding costs
  • Stagger technician hiring dates
  • Negotiate office lease deposits
[dynamic_pic13]

How do differentscenarios change the outcome?

In a high-growth scenario where you secure more property contracts early, Year 1 EBITDA can beat the $76,000 baseline. However, a low-revenue scenario where Residential Repairs lag will stretch your payback period beyond 5 years. This franchise investment feasibility study template allows you to stress-test your $42,000 technician salaries against different revenue levels to see when margins get squeezed.

High-Case Odds

  • Aggressive local digital marketing
  • High technician retention rates
  • Dense Mueller district routing

Clean product
Size: 3 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I only gave it 4 stars because of the smell. Of course it’s sunscreen so it’s going to have a chemical smell but this smell is just too strong for me. Other then that, it’s a great sunscreen. Does take some more rubbing in and be carful to rub it in really good or you’ll have white streaks all over your face. Leaves a bit of a white cast. You don’t need much.

Great quality

Thinksport SPF 50+ Mineral Sunscreen with Zinc is a reliable, high‑protection option that feels lightweight and non‑greasy on the skin. It applies smoothly without leaving too much white cast for everyday use, and I love that it’s mineral‑based with zinc for strong UVA/UVB defense. Great for active days outdoors. Highly recommend for sensitive skin and safe sun coverage!

Brown skin approved!
Size: 6 Ounce (Pack of 1), Size: 6 Ounce (Pack of 1)
Does not leave a white cast, feels very light on the skin. Scanned on Yuka and was a 86/100 green zone! It’s so hard to find a sunscreen that isn’t trying to poison you, scanned all the sunscreen at Walmart and were rated a 1/100 through 6/100. Which brought me to Amazon. Thinksport has my vote on goodness and healthiness, would buy again!

My favorite... And I'm picky.
Size: 3 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I've become a little obsessed with sunscreen over the last past 5 years. I have olive skin and developed melasma after my first pregnancy. I learned the hard way that chemical sunscreens don't help if you have melasma - and they actually make the dark spots even worse. Also the active ingredients in chemical sunscreens (like Oxybenzone and Octinoxate) are absorbed by your skin, and may cause allergies, hormonal imbalance and be toxic overtime. After learning that, I started wearing only mineral sunscreen (active ingredient is zinc and/or titanium dioxide). These are not absorbed and works by creating a physical barrier that reflects the sun (some studies suggest that some nanoparticles of zinc may be absorbed by your skin, so to be really, really safe you should look for non-nano particles). After trying a few brands, I realized the sunscreens with only zinc in their formulas worked better than the blends with titanium dioxide, but this is just my personal preference I guess. And the higher the percentage of zinc, the better. Most pure mineral sunscreens out there are 10-ish % zinc, SPF 30, 40 min water resistant - which is ok. Thinksport goes beyond that: It's 20% non-nano zinc, SPF 50+, 80 min water resistant. It really can't get any better than that! The lotion is not extremely thick when compared to other sunscreens I've tried and I find it pretty easy to apply. As every zinc sunscreen, it does leave a little fine white cast, but honestly Thinksport is not bad at all! It smells nice, lightly citrusy - and the smell vanishes soon. And, it's not overpriced. Best I've tried so far.

Works but will Dry Out Your Skin
Size: 6 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I am a swim instructor at an outdoor pool and this stuff DOES work. I can apply it at the beginning of a 5 hour shift and while I have experienced light tanning it has protected against burning completely without reapplication. The white cast is significant though I don't mind it aesthetically, I know its there for protection . It does rub off on things though so consider yourself warned. Major Con: it is incredibly drying, and the soap needed to scrub it off is A LOT. That coupled with chlorine is a lot for my skin . Still on my sunscreen journey.
