Lavishly illustrated book showing work done by Bawden for Fortnum and Mason between 1932 and 1939 and also 1955 and 1959

Fortnum & Mason and Edward Bawden were an unlikely double act: one a firm devoted to luxury provisions and lavish entertaining, the other a shy, retiring artist, who once proposed to offer charcoal biscuits and water to guests at a ‘gloom party’. Yet the relationship inspired Bawden to produce some of his finest work, and today his vivid, fanciful illustrations are widely appreciated. This book presents the advertising material illustrated by the artist for Fortnum & Mason on either side of World War II. Showcasing Christmas catalogues, menu cards, promotional brochures and other ephemera, this luxurious volume is the ideal souvenir of Fortnum’s recent 300th anniversary and a memento of Edward Bawden’s work.

If the world’s favourite English emporium is famous for promoting a love of good things, Edward Bawden is the one artist who best captured that spirit. The introductory essay is by Peyton Skipwith, Edward Bawden’s literary executor and a former director of the Fine Art Society.

Good shirt
Size: X-Large, Color: Bel Air Blue
This is a good shirt, I’m 5’ 9” and 220 (old dad bod 50’s), it fits well and the sleeves are a good length. My only thing I don’t like and this is nit-picking: it wrinkles easy. I’m ex military so I like my shirts ironed or pressed, I get it it’s more casual, it’s just my preference. This is a comfortable shirt

Fair quality shirt
Size: Large, Color: Port Red
Decent shirt. No shirt if wrinkle-free so take these claims with a grain of salt. The fabric blend will tell you just how much it will wrinkle. If you leave it in the dryer overnight you can guarantee that even if it was made of cast iron, it would likely have a wrinkle or two. Don't be swayed by a 'label'. The same shirt can have a no-name label sewn on it. Doesn't make the shirt better or worse. It is what it is. Size runs correct. NOT a 'slim fit' shirt, fyi.
