Tempt Me: The Fine Art of Minnesota CookingIn search of something to savor, our senses come into play: smell and taste, of course, but at the very start is sight. Cookbooks are judged by their covers. Mounds of delectable produce inspire shoppers to plan bountiful meals. Kitchenware and appliances promise culinary delights, and design is almost as important as function. It's simple: food is more delicious if it is pleasing to the eye. Building on this common knowledge, gorgeous full color

In search of something to savor, our senses come into play: smell and taste, of course, but at the very start is sight. Cookbooks are judged by their covers. Mounds of delectable produce inspire shoppers to plan bountiful meals. Kitchenware and appliances promise culinary delights, and design is almost as important as function. It's simple: food is more delicious if it is pleasing to the eye. Building on this common knowledge, gorgeous full-color paintings graced Minnesota cookbooks, food packaging, and promotional mailings beginning in the late nineteenth century. These lavish illustrations were made by talented artists, including the acclaimed N. C. Wyeth and Norman Rockwell. Minnesota's food companies, with their national and even international reach, hired fine artists to paint finished dishes, illustrate the era's kitchens, and design lush gardens that would entice consumers to purchase products and the cookbooks that celebrated them. In this collection of vintage recipes, evocative illustrations, and vivid ads, Kathryn Strand Koutsky and Linda Koutsky take readers on a tour of Minnesota's foodie ephemera of the 1880s through the 1980s: charming cartoon cooks, alluring seed catalog covers, and imaginative and decorative drawings celebrating cuisines from around the world. As the artwork and stories show, styles and approaches may change through the decades, but the goal remains the same: tempt your customers' appetite by elevating food and cooking to fine art.

Award-winning designer Kathryn Strand Koutsky and book artist and graphic designer Linda Koutsky are the authors of Minnesota Eats Out: An Illustrated History, Minnesota Vacation Days: An Illustrated History, and Minnesota State Fair: An Illustrated History.

My Husband’s Favorite Socks
Size: Large, Color: (035) Steel / White / Black
The Under Armour Unisex Training Cotton No Show Socks have become my husband’s absolute favorite socks—and he’s pretty picky about socks. Comfortable Fit: They’re soft, comfortable, and fit well without being too tight. They stay in place all day with no slipping or bunching. Great for Everyday Wear: Perfect for workouts, walking, and everyday use. They provide just the right amount of cushioning without feeling bulky. Durable & Long-Lasting: These hold up really well through regular wear and washing. They keep their shape and don’t wear thin quickly. Reliable Under Armour Quality: You can tell they’re well made. Consistent quality that matches what you expect from Under Armour. Overall Impression: When someone has a favorite sock and keeps reaching for it, that says everything. These are comfortable, durable, and dependable.

Quality Under Armour socks
Size: Large, Color: (100) White / White / Black
Nice medium thick sock that is breathable but cushioned. It stays put in the show and doesn’t fall down. Fit is true to size, no show/minimal show

Excellent athletic socks
Size: Large, Color: (100) White / White / Black
Solid athletic socks at a great price. Not too thick, not too thin. Second time I've purchased them. They last longer than most socks I've used in the past too. Only concern is the sizing. I may be reading the sizing chart wrong, but for my size 13 feet it says XL are the correct sock size. I've ordered Large twice and they're perfect. I would imagine the size Large socks would also fit up to size 14 shoe, but probably need to go with XL if foot is lager than 14.
