"The aural pleasure created by this somewhat mysterious trio of London musicians continues to accrue. After two fine self-released records (one a 7", th' other a 12"), and the superb Drip Water Hollow Out Stone on the great Ever/Never label, Feeding Tube is honored to present the Mosquitoes' latest assault on the temples of beauty. The music on Vortex is of a piece with earlier recordings. By this, I mean there is a wonderfully 'out' approach to basic rock instrumentation and vocals, which détourns the basic assumptions listeners have about what rock instruments sound like. A good number of bands have done this in the modern era, from This Heat to U.S. Maple, but the only band the Mosquitoes continually call to my mind is late period Mars. That NYC unit had pretty much destroyed conventions of song and structure by the time they called it a day, and the instrumental/vocal mangling these guys do is equally brilliant. They really take every piece of sound apart and put it back together in a weird way. There are passages on Vortex that actually make me think of early Suicide as well (I think they use amp-noise-loops to approximate Rev's keyboards), but none of the music here has the aggression of Suicide. Instead, it projects a transcendent sense of confusion that is as head-scratching as it is appealing. If you like your music to be equal parts brains and power, you won't find many things more satisfying than the music of the Mosquitoes. Every one of their records is great. Tie a Knot in it if it rips

My puppy split the middle belly seam in about 5 minutes of spirited play with the white foam and squeak assembly scattered about, but he loves these loofa toys - goes nuts for them. Went through a couple of the little $3 ones so I tried this big one which he ripped apart. But I tied a knot in the middle of it over the ripped part and guess what, it's better than before. He loves the whipping the big knot around. The part where it ripped was where they filled it I think but the rest of the stitching is really quite solid. Takes a beating, to a point. The little ones lasted a reasonable time before they were totally played.

Not the most durable, but my dog LOVES it.

My boyfriend’s dog had the small version from Petsmart and she has been very gentle with it since she likes it so much. I decided to surprise her with this 24 inch one for Christmas. She was obsessed! It’s cute, it’s very soft, and has a big squeaker in the top, which she loves! She was a little more tough on it and it did get some rips 12 hours in, but it is still in one piece at the moment and brings lots of joy. The dog is a medium/large size.
Dog toys can be so expensive. I personally think the was a great price despite not being the most durable. I may purchase again next year!

Update: Excellent Customer Service Made Everything Worthwhile!

07/17/2025: This doggy toy was destroyed within 2 hours of its arrival. In my opinion, it was not at all worth the cost. (1 star)
Update (07/19/2025): I have contacted the manufacturer and they said they will send out a new replacement toy.
As of now, I have revised the review to 2 stars for the excellent and efficient customer service pending arrival of said replacement. Will update again soon. (2 stars)
Update (07/23/2025):
The replacements have arrived! My dog loves the new plushie sloth and so far it is in tact. It doesn't have stuffing in the body as far as I can tell, so little to no clean up hopefully. They also sent her a spiked squeaky ball and she's getting used to it. This company has some of the best customer service and support that I've experienced. (5 stars)

Cute, Squeaky, and So Much Fun — Perfect Little Loofa Toy

The Multipet Original Loofa Dog plush (6”) has been a huge hit. It’s super cute in person, and the random color is a fun surprise.
For a plush toy, the durability has been better than expected. It’s held up well to regular play, and the seams have stayed intact. Chewability is solid for light-to-moderate chewers—my dog loves chewing and carrying it around, but it’s still a plush toy, so it’s not meant for aggressive shredders.
The squeak is loud enough to keep my dog interested without being obnoxious, and it still squeaks consistently. It’s also really fun for dogs because it has a bit of bounce when tossed, so it’s great for indoor fetch and pouncing.
Soft, adorable, and entertaining—easy 5 stars.

My dog’s favorite soft toy!

My dog loves these toys! We will get a replacement for him every couple months or so because these are his favorite. The squeaker is his arch nemesis and it’s always his main priority to get that first. The material is very soft so he likes to lightly chew on it when he gets anxious or excited, only negative is that it does tear easy but there’s not a lot of stuffing so it’s not a big mess to clean. Definitely recommend to puppies and dogs that don’t annihilated their toys.
