According to an urban legend, when Jeremiah Colman took over the family’s mustard and flour milling business in Norwich, he insisted on matching the colour of their mustard to the fur of his beloved Earthdog. And so, the colour of Colman’s dog and mustard lived on in the descendants, ultimately giving rise to the breed we know as the Norwich Terrier.
