Indigo Hamlet Hypoplectrus IndigoOverview:
The Indigo Hamlet is a striking marine fish, renowned for its vibrant indigo blue coloration, interspersed with a mesmerizing pattern of yellow and white. This species belongs to the Hamlet fish family, which is noted for its variety of colors and patterns. Typically reaching a length of up to 5 inches, the Indigo Hamlet is a captivating addition to any saltwater aquarium, embodying the tranquility and beauty of the ocean.
Origin:
Native to the coral reefs of the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico, the Indigo Hamlet thrives in warm, shallow waters rich in coral and rocky substrates. Their natural habitat includes areas with abundant hiding spots and territorial landmarks.
Feeding:
The Indigo Hamlet is a carnivorous species, primarily feeding on small crustaceans and fish in the wild. In captivity, a varied diet of frozen or live mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other marine meats is essential for maintaining their health and vibrant coloration. Feed 2-3 times daily in small quantities to avoid overfeeding.
Tank Mates:
Indigo Hamlets are relatively peaceful with other species but can exhibit territorial behavior towards conspecifics and similar-looking fish. Ideal tank mates include other peaceful to moderately aggressive marine species that are not small enough to be considered prey. Suitable companions include larger wrasses, clownfish, and tangs. Avoid housing with very small or overly aggressive species.
Aggression:
This species exhibits moderate aggression, mainly towards similar or smaller fish, especially in smaller tanks. Providing ample space and hiding spots can mitigate territorial disputes. A tank of at least 75 gallons is recommended.
Experience Level:
The Indigo Hamlet is best suited for intermediate to advanced aquarists. It requires a stable, well-established aquarium with excellent water quality and a carefully selected community of tank mates.
Water Parameters:
- Temperature: 72°F - 78°F (22°C - 26°C)
- Salinity: 1.020 - 1.025 SG
- pH: 8.1 - 8.4
- Alkalinity: 8 - 12 dKH
Conclusion:
The Indigo Hamlet is a jewel of the marine aquarium, offering a splash of dynamic color and activity. With appropriate care, diet, and habitat, it will thrive and become a cherished member of your aquatic family.

Great for a chewer
Color: Dogwood (Brown), Size: Large (Pack of 1)
My dog loves a hard toy and a durable one. My dog has been chewing on this for months and it is still holding strong. Because it is a hard toy when my dog brings this into another room with a hard floor and drops the toy it can be startling. My dog will choose this toy over others on a daily basis and brings the toy to other rooms.

Large is a little big for Bostons
Color: Dogwood (Brown), Size: Large (Pack of 1)
Seems to be durable for 2 VERY agressive chewer Boston Terriers. Cricket and Alice are shockingly good at chewing - grateful they pick to do so with thier toys.
Trial vs other name brand competitor.
PetStages' is a little larger so harder to bite on fir small dogs, but seems to be equally durable. While PetStages proudly states it has real wood fiber and scent (whoch I thought would win)... they prefered the other. Both dogs love to chew on real sticks.
But, when the bossy one indicated she was taking over the stick the other dog had, they exchanged, and kept chewing, over and over, back and forth. I mean to say, whatever the prefered stick was at first didnt seem to matter later.
These super hard chew toys do make me nervous. One dog broke a tooth last summer on a different brand toy, a very expensive extraction bill, and poor pup's terrible discomfort... but the other did not and has amazing white teeth, all around.... so.
