Description

Our Cocoon Swaddle Bags are designed to be both easy to use and difficult to escape from. This zip-up swaddle is TOG rated for warmth to keep a baby snug and securely swaddled without the need for complicated wrapping from day one. Being TOG-rated means that the 1.0 TOG swaddle can be used on its own in room temperatures between 21-24℃/ 70-75℉ with no blankets in the bassinet or crib to make this a safe sleep option for a newborn or baby and an ideal warm-weather swaddle. Parents can layer up underneath as needed for more warmth, and follow our handy FREE what to wear guide included with the product to help them dress their child appropriately. We recommend pairing this with one of our TOG-rated rompers or Bodywear underneath (sold separately).

The Cocoon Swaddle Bag is made from natural fibers GOTS certified organic cotton and bamboo with a touch of elastane. This means it's firm enough to restrict startle reflex whilst still allowing stretch and movement for healthy growth. The stretch also allows for full chest expansion when breathing, added comfort, and for a baby to move its hands into a self-settling position inside the swaddle. The soft, breathable organic cotton and bamboo is certified non-toxic, dyed with water based dyes, and gentle on newborn skin, and skin prone to eczema breakouts. A zip enclosure also protects your child's delicate skin, and the handy arm poppers transition the Cocoon from an arms-in swaddle to arms-out sleeping bag when baby is showing signs of rolling. The bell shaped design is approved by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute as being hip-healthy, and promotes proper joint development in the hips and shoulders joints. Finally, the two-way zipper makes for quick and easy diaper changes during sleep with minimal disruptions.

The Cocoon Swaddle Bag complies with AU, US, UK and EU safety and quality standards and is reviewed by the National Eczema Association as a skin-friendly product.

A fast paced and exciting read
Format: Kindle
I really enjoyed this book about the sinking of the USS Indianapolis by a Japanese submarine towards the end of World War II. The story is told through the eyes of a sixteen year old boy, Josh, who lied about his age on his enlistment application and forged his mother's signature. He was determined to do his bit for the American war effort and revenge the death of his father during the attack on Pearl Harbour. When the USS Indianapolis was torpedoed, the survivors, about three quarters of the crew, were flung into the ocean without any survival equipment. Many of them did not even have life jackets and were burned by the fire that had broken out on board the ship or injured when they were swept overboard. The scent of urine and blood soon attracts sharks, lots of sharks, and the survivors fear that they have survived the sinking of the ship only to become food for these huge and vicious fish. The story is short and sharp and I think middle school and young teenage boys will really enjoy it. The author shares some details of the attack and sinking of the ship, without making it to graphic and over whelming for younger readers. Boys, particularly, will relate to the action packed excitement of the attack and also to Josh's thoughts about his mother and younger brother back home. The terrible hardship of being in the ocean for a few days, without food or water, the temptation to drink sea water to alleviate the dreadful thirst and the savage behavior of some of the other survivors are all well told but not with so much detail that younger readers will become overwhelmed or bored. Josh's relationship with another young survivor, Lee, who is of Japanese extraction is also most interesting and contains a good message of delving deeper into relationships and people that merely their heritage and looks.

RAW AND REAL
Format: Kindle
A powerful story of a historical adventure narrated through the eyes of a sixteen-year-old survivor. Josh enlisted with forged papers to avenge the death of his father at Pearl Harbor. He is straight out of boot camp serving on the USS Indianapolis when the battleship is struck by a Japanese torpedo. He struggles to escape the burning ship, but that is just the beginning of his troubles. No help is in sight; sharks infest the waters, and the survivors begin to turn against each other. This book is a powerful story filled with raw emotions, adventure, and history. The authors provide readers with an action-packed tale filled with interesting facts about sharks and military history. It contains actual photographs, maps, and hand-drawn illustrations. The book is little more than one hundred pages. Reluctant readers can easily navigate the short chapters with graphics. Targeted for middle grades but just as appealing to young adult and adult audiences.

Approved by my 8 year old!
Format: Paperback
My 8 yr old son read it on his own. He liked it but some parts were a bit gross and scary for him. It is along the lines of the I Survived books. He said it was a good story because it was based on real life even though some of the parts were a little scary.

Read it to ok for 9 year old
Format: Kindle
I heard about this series and wanted to see if it would be up her alley. I downloaded this book to read before bed and now it's the middle of the night. I ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ the book. I'm a woman in my 40's and it was a great read for me! I know my daughter will really enjoy it. She struggles with her vocabulary so I've been selecting and pre-reading books and gathering words I know she will be challenged by. Then I make those her spelling words for the week and use the words in sentences 100k times until she knows them. Doing that has really improved her reading experience and helps her flow through the book easier and enjoy it far more. Great book.

Very good book. Super interesting and great articulation for a young reader. Very captivating and very inspiring. I’ve read escaped prison island aswell (check it out) and Scott peters and Ellie Crowe are really good authors! Definite read and I love how they tied in ww2 to something you would have never associated a shark story with. Learned a lot thx.
