This rug features dramatic, bole repeated Tribal Motifs woven in green, brown, white and red/tan.
Denizle has, for many generations, been an important centre for Turkish kilim production. Intended primarily for everyday use, Denizle Kilims are usually quite large and rectangular in size, have design elements which feature bold, serrated medallions outlined by or incorporating the “Cengel” or “Hook” motif (protection) or dramatic Zig Zag motifs. They are woven in flat-weave style with locally sourced, hand-spun wool which has been naturally dyed in fairly bright/intense colours.Most Denizle kilims use the “slit weave” technique and are, therefore, reversible.
