Our Bunker Hill Starting Wood Newel Post is the most conventional method of starting a stairway. It makes the rail uncomplicated and easy to install. It can be mounted on a stair tread, cap, landing or balcony. Ideal for starting sections, intermediate and modern balconies. 

  • 3-1/2" width - 48" height
  • 5-1/4" top block - 15-3/4" square bottom block
  • 5" acorn top - 22-1/2" turned middle
  • Install using our Newel Post Mounting Kit 

Caution: It is critical that the newel is attached securely in order for the staircase to comply with local building codes. 

This post is a SOLID wood core, they are stronger and more secure than engineered filler core products.

Our Wood Newel Posts are available in a wide variety of species including: Oak, Poplar, Cherry, Maple, Mahogany, Alder and more.

Pricing on wood species other than Red Oak or White Oak may vary as they are custom made to order. Please call prior to placing an order to verify price.
