What do you use your truck for? If you're like most, probably a little bit of everything, from hauling, work, daily driving, and some fun on the weekends. So, why not add tuning that maximizes the performance of your truck for everything you do with it? The SPADE delivers just that!

The SPADE 50 State series (Standalone Programming And Diagnostic Equipment) delivers the highest quality tunes on the market available in a simple to use OBD style flash tool. The tunes represent the best in driveability, reliability, and power. The SPADE system ships preloaded with proven and reliable tunes that's ready to plug in and deliver shift-on-the-fly power for your Cummins, no matter what you specifically use your truck for.

Calibrated Power is about doing things differently to create very noticeable power gains that you can put to work to make driving your truck easier, more fun, and those loads not seem quite as heavy. There's no reason to pull your exhaust off of your truck to get the power, mileage, and torque benefits of tuning. Calibrated Power specializes in engineering high power calibrations that work in harmony with the factory emissions control systems. This calibrations process is time and labor intensive, but the results are worth it if you're using your truck daily and appreciate clean, quiet operation. That's right, you can enjoy the benefits of a simple to install programmer without any of the other headaches that are required with some of the competition's tuners.

INCLUDED TUNES / POWER LEVELS:
  • Optimized Stock: This tune has slight revisions to the factory calibration with no significant increase of peak power. This tune is great for troubleshooting a phisical problem with your truck or for when somone else drives your truck.
  • Heavy Tow (+20 rwhp / 36 ft-lbs.): A tune designed for heavy towing use (8K lb trailer up to GVW). This tune will increase power without increasing EGT's via the custom "SMART EGT Control" that will automatically manage your EGT's. The air fuel ratio limits built into the calibration to limit soot production. Your factory exhaust brake retains complete functionality and you will have enough power to "shift up, throttle back". The throttle sensitivity has been revised for low speed trailer maneuvering so you can back up with a trailer without lurching.
  • Light Tow (+40rwhp / 72 ft-lbs.): A tune designed for light towing use (8K lb trailer or less). The goal with this tune is to give you a smooth power curve that is fun to drive. Improved throttle response, good low end feel and crisp shifts. This tune offers a balance of fun and mileage with long term driveline and emissions system reliability.
  • Street Tune (+80rwhp / 144 ft-lbs.): A significant bump in power and torque. It feels like a totally different truck at this time. This tune will put you at 470rwhp and 1010ft-lbs for Aisin transmission trucks, 450hp and 944 ft-lbs for 68RFE transmission trucks. We're talking about a truck that's a lot of fun to drive and a surprise for most anything you'll see at a stoplight. We recommend not exceeding this power level for long term health on un-modified transmissions.
  • Sport Tune (+100rwhp / 180 ft-lbs.): This tune will give you peak horsepower and torque and the fastest possible acceleration. No dead pedal and firm shifting, this tune is the biggest adrenaline rush Calibrated Power can give you. This tune is too much for towing without the proper gauges and is enough power for an irresponsible driver to damage his truck.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
  • This product is intended to only be used on vehicles with all factory emissions equipment in place. This programming will not support emissions removal of any kind.
  • You will be REQUIRED to unlock the ECM before installation of the SPADE can occur. Please read the information below that outlines the requirements to unlock your ECM.

ECM UNLOCK FOR 2018 TRUCKS (INCLUDED): The 2018 CME Bypass Cable, also known as the Security Gateway Module bypass cable is used to bypass the anti-tuning security found in the 2018 Cummins PCM. The bypass cable will replace the two can wires in the factory OBD-II connector (the factory ones will need to be de-pinned) and the bypass cable will be plugged into a large white connector just above the OBD-II in any of the available slots. This can remain permanently in the truck and does not need to be removed after flashing. The OBD-II will retain all normal functionality. The bypass just disallows the Security Gateway Module to filter out the flashing stuff we need to send to the ECM. For 2013-2017 trucks, no additional unlock device is required as the EFILive Autocal can get through their security itself.

An essential work in putting American history in perspective
Format: Hardcover
This is a great book. It is not a book for everyone, however. If you don't know the difference between the Pilgrims and the Puritans, and I don't mean just when they arrived, try something simpler. It is a fascinating read if you already have some knowledge. For example, had I not been familiar with Hudson River geography and history, I'm not sure I would have been able to follow Bailyn's account of New Netherland. Naturally, as in any history, the most interesting stories are those you haven't heard before. For me, that was the information about New Sweden; I even read that section first. What makes Bailyn's book great, however, is his ability to make one see material one already knows a great deal about in new ways. Although he never addressed this question per se, he helped me answer a question that has been on my mind for at least fifteen years, and on which I've done considerable research - why did the Puritans, who arrived in 1630 as staunch Presbyterians, deriding their Separatist/Congregationalist Pilgrim neighbors, declare themselves Congregationalists in 1648 in the Cambridge Platform? (In part, the answer Bailyn helped me surmise is simply that when two or three Puritans gathered together, they had at least four different theological positions. It was hard enough to reconcile them in a single congregation; a presbytery would have been impossible.) The book also caused me to reassess my whole viewpoint on early Connecticut, and I certainly came to appreciate the importance of John Winthrop, Jr. beyond his role there. It is amazing too that Bailyn covers such a wide range of issues while devoting relatively few pages to each. The review in The New York Times Book Review, at least as I recall it, was wrong. While that reviewer praised the Virginia, Maryland and New Sweden/New Netherland portions, the New England portion (about 40% of the book) was dismissed as being only of interest to genealogists. While it is true that the earlier sections were more reflective of the book's subtitle, "The Conflict of Civilizations," the New England section would be of interest to a rather small portion of the genealogical community. (For example, I learned nothing new about my only ancestor discussed in the book, William Vassall.) I doubt if that reviewer has ever seen an on-line genealogy, which frequently contain claims such as that so and so was born in 1585 in the United States. As I have already said, the New England section, like the rest of the book, does a marvelous job of putting information in perspective; something that anyone interested in history needs to do.

Interesting and important book
Format: Hardcover
This book looks at the motivations and demographics of the first wave of English immigrants to flee to what was to become the USA. Interestingly written, it explores the educations, positions of and the relationships of the earliest settlers to our east coast. I read it while researching our Family Tree and finding the people connected before coming, and for generations after. The endless Indian wars were a revelation, as was the tale of the oppressed becoming the oppressors as Quaker families fled Massachusetts for New Netherlands.
