Though hallmarked in 1990, we believe this piece to be earlier in origin, based on its design, wear, and provenance. It is not uncommon for antique rings to be later re-hallmarked, and this example strongly reflects an older aesthetic in both form and execution.

The ring features an ornately carved band, richly decorated with a floral motif that wraps around the shank. The detailing is tactile and expressive, lending the piece a sense of movement and nature.

Set at the centre is a pale, luminous chalcedony, its soft translucence giving it an almost glowing look. The stone has been engraved with the gothic initials SRK. Above the monogram sits a plain panel, offering a subtle contrast to the detailed carving below. The intaglio engraving is crisp yet understated, allowing the natural beauty of the stone to remain the focus.
