The GMR 1226 xHD2 12 kW high-definition 6-foot open-array radar is our most powerful option for serious seafarers of large yachts and sport fishing boats with limited space for an open array radar. This is our most powerful 6-foot radar, providing more sensitivity, more target detail and more consistent target positioning than our other 6-foot open array radars. If you want the best open array for limited space, this combination of high power and compact sweep makes it the perfect option for cruising and fishing offshore, overnight and in foggy, limited or no visibility, conditions.

High-power xHD2 Radar with Narrow 1.1 Degree Beam

This high-definition 12 kW radar has the power to deliver excellent range, up to 72 nautical miles, even in fog or rain. Its narrow 1.1 degree horizontal beamwidth means it can pick out weaker targets further off in the distance than wider beamwidths. The result is this radar paints a clear, concise image of the shoreline, other vessels, and impending weather on your Garmin chartplotter. You get consistent target positions, excellent target separation and reliable operation. Its 8-bit true color imagery also helps you discriminate large targets from small ones and enhances target separation. Rotation speeds of 24 and 48 rpm with a max range scale of 72 nautical miles.

Bird Mode

Fishermen know, when you find birds at the water’s surface, you’ll also find fish.

To further improve your fishing experience, use Bird Mode, which helps to locate birds at the water’s surface where baitfish are also likely to be found.

Echo Trails

A historical ?trail? is left on the screen to help you quickly and easily identify moving targets and potential collision threats.

Dual Range

Single radar antenna is capable of providing split screen images on your chartplotter for both close and long range.

Dual Radar Support

Provides redundancy and the ability for each display unit on the boat to select data from one of two different radar sources.

Dynamic Auto Gain

Dynamic Auto Gain automatically adjusts gain levels to optimum settings for harbors, near shore, and offshore in open waters.

Dynamic Sea Filter

Dynamic Sea Filter automatically adjusts gain to calm, medium and rough sea conditions.

Radar Overlay

Overlays the radar image on the chartplotter’s map page.

MARPA Target Tracking

Mini-automatic radar plotting aid (MARPA) tracks up to 10 selected targets, helping you keep track of other vessels and avoid collisions.

Guard Zone

Set the safety zone and receive an alarm when an object enters the zone.

VRM and EBL

Variable range markers (VRM) and electronic bearing lines (EBL) allow rapid measurements of distance and bearing to vessels and land.

New Year, new beginnings, new murder
Format: Kindle
Having run through the entire Lord Edgington Investigates series, it felt natural to jump over to this Marius Quin mystery. All in all, it’s not quite as funny as the banter between Lord Edgington and Christopher affords, but it’s still highly readable and offers the same weaving of clues to keep you entertained. What’s in store for you? Put together looming bills, writer’s block, a past lover, a New Year’s Eve party, a dead silent film star, a killer on the loose in a snowbound manor, and 6 perfectly good suspects—except they all seem so innocent if unlikeable (some more than others, one more than most)—which means Marius has his work cut out for him. So do you if you’re an armchair detective. So why 3 stars and not higher? I’m suffering from comparison syndrome. Marius and Bella don’t have a big enough gap between them (other than an historical romantic mishap) for belly-laugh comedic moments like Lord Edgington and grandson Christopher have. That won’t stop me from reading the next installment in the series, though, so I can let Marius and Bella grow on me as the author finds their rhythm.

Grown up version of Chrissy!
Format: Kindle
Marius Quin is a good character for Benedict Brown’s readers. There is a tie-in with Lord Edgington (and Chrissy) and Lord Edgington is referred to or almost mentioned a few times. This takes place in a huge old mansion with some history, that has to do with the murder, so I don’t want to spoil it. Marius does have a dog, but he’s not as involved with the story as Lord Edgington’s Golden Retriever, unless you think of his ability to judge characters.

A quite enjoyable, funny, mystery.
Format: Kindle
I really enjoyed this one, it was funny, great characters, fantastic pacing, solid twist at the end, although one thing was obvious to me but I can't say it because thats a spoiler. But I am really looking forward to the next book.

Good first book in a series.
Format: Paperback
I had read all of the Lord Edgington mysteries and decided to try this series since I believe the author does a very good job. Definitely a different vibe than the other series, but great all the same. I THOUGHT that I had for once solved the mystery before the end but I was only partially right. Definitely recommend; I will be purchasing all the other books in this series.

Great start to a new series
Format: Kindle
Well, here we go with a new series from one of my favorites, Benedict Brown! I was excited when I learned that we had a new series to read from this author, again based in the 1920s. I love his writing style and his attention to detail of this era in all his stories. And this one was no exception. We meet Marius Quin, whom we've met before, but in his own setting this time. A writer who is struggling to write his next book. When he runs into an old friend and is invited to a New Year's Eve party, he decides maybe that's just what he needs to get his creative juices going. What he doesn't know is that chaos is about to be unleashed! Marius and his friend Bella now have to work together to piece things together to figure out who did it and why. Will they figure it out in time before the guests all leave? What an excellent story from start to finish. I'm really looking forward to more in this series. Highly recommend!
