Description

Best's Great Western Foundre Riesling 2025 x 6The aromatic Riesling juice is given extended skin contact then wild fermented in large French oak foudre (barrels), one made by Marc Grenier in France and the other by the Schneckenleitner family in Austria. The wine exhibits both the complexities of a barrel ferment and spontaneous fermentation without the overt oak flavour, due to the large size and subtlety of the foudre. The Foudre Ferment is a representation of another facet of Rieslings charms.

The Foudre Ferment is a representation of another facet of Riesling’s charms. The aromatic characteristics of this wine are best appreciated in the short to medium term, but this wine will gain complexity over time.

TECHNICAL DETAILS:

Region:
 Great Western, Victoria
Grape Variety: Riesling
Alcohol: 11.5%

HOW DOES IT TASTE:

Pale straw, with yellow / gold hues. Exceptional bouquet of white petals and florals, with freshly cut hay and yellow stone fruits.

Vibrant yellow stone fruits of peach and apricot, with white jasmine and honeysuckle floral notes.

Citrus drives this wine with preserved lemon, limoncello and lime rind. Good phenolics and drive keep this wine light and fresh.

WHAT DO THE WINE CRITIS SAY?

2025 Foudre Ferment Riesling

'Off the Rhymney vineyard: 24 hours on skins, pressed, fermented in large oak foudre, left on solids for six months. 10g/L RS. A pioneering wine that showed Riesling in a new light, a textural and almost funky light, when the '15 vintage was released.

It's changed slightly, gaining an almost off-dry status. It's not needed but the purity of the fruit and lovely textural qualities remain. Lemongrass, lime , pink grapefruit, honeysuckle, apple, pear and ginger light up the palate.

Smooth to taste with a lovely depth of intensity, it finishes with a gently grippy resolve.' JP 11.5%

Halliday Wine Companion- JP, 100 new tasting notes, Winter 2025

'Light lemon color. Feijoa and sweet pastry aromatics. Palate has weight and texture, green tropical fruits with a swet pastry overlay. Good length, with acidity supple in the background to carry it along.' Rating 91 points.

No casebook connect
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
I ordered a new print version of the textbook to specifically receive the casebook connect code. The book also came wrapped, but when I undid the wrapping and opened the textbook, there was no code. It looks like somebody peeled the code information away as the cover has some yellowing, which I imagine is due to glue residue. I’m incredibly disappointed and now I need to purchase the code in addition to the $220 I spent on this textbook.

Readable
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
Not at all what I would consider “Very Good” condition, as the book was described. Pretty disappointed to be honest, considering I paid over $100 for this. It’s beaten up, torn, and dirty, but it’s readable.

Not as listed!
Format: Hardcover
I paid nearly 300 dollars for this book and it was not as listed. I bought this because it was listed as new, but the book arrived with a broken binding, highlighting and writing throughout the pages, and the course ecode was already used. Unfortunately, I cannot use it for my studies.

Coverage lined up nearly perfectly with my fed courts class
Format: Paperback
Almost every case we covered in class and definitely every concept is covered, and explained helpfully, in this E&E. The problems are helpful, too.

Great Federal Courts supplement
Format: Paperback
This E&E book really helped with Fed. Courts! Incorporate the public v. private law models/SOP and federalist v. nationalist paradigms which my professor used in the course. This version doesn't have some of the newer cases (TransUnion v. Ramirez). The standing section could have more info but standing is one of the easiest doctrines in fed courts. The Habeas Corpus, particularly the Teague Doctrine and AEDPA, section is excellent. The only big thing this book does not include are universal injunctions and the scope of remedies (outside of standing, anti-injunction act, and section 1983).
