Why Carry a Spare Spool
A second spool turns one Base reel into two complete setups. Pre-rig with different line types so you can swap in seconds when the fishing changes. Floating line on the reel, sink tip on the spare. Dry line in the morning, nymph rig in the afternoon. When water conditions shift or the hatch comes off, you change the spool and keep fishing instead of breaking down rigs streamside.
Same Build as the Parent Reel
The Base Spare Spool retains the same large arbor design and impact-resistant composite construction as the parent reel. The vented spool reduces weight and lets line and backing dry between trips. The matte black finish matches the parent reel for a clean, consistent look.
