Sinds de release van de Silver Sky in 2018 hebben wij bij Dijkmans menig gitarist als een blok zien vallen voor zijn charmes. Talloze liefhebbers van zowel vintage instrumenten als moderne gitaren hebben de Silver Sky inmiddels in hun hart gesloten. We zijn dan ook ongelooflijk blij dat PRS de Silver Sky vanaf 2022 ook in hun betaalbaardere SE-lijn aanbiedt! Zo wordt het instrument toegankelijk voor nog meer gitaristen en dat kunnen wij alleen maar toejuichen.

De SE Silver Sky is weliswaar een pak betaalbaarder dan zijn oudere, Amerikaanse broer, maar echte concessies zijn er eigenlijk niet gedaan. Om te beginnen worden beide versies gekenmerkt door de uiterst comfortabele bodyshape, met bellycut. Dit is een gitaar die je niet meer neer wilt leggen! Ook qua klank maken ze elkaar weinig; de SE versie is gemaakt van populierenhout, dat erg dicht aanligt tegen het elzenhout van de Amerikaanse versie. Je hoort hetzelfde detail en dezelfde diepte die je mag verwachten, wat nog eens wordt versterkt door de vernieuwde 635JM "S" pickups. Deze pickups zijn onderling prachtig in balans, waardoor ook de welbekende "tussenstandjes" waanzinnig klinken (al zal dat de echte Mayer-kenners niet zo verrassen...). Ook het kenmerkende halsprofiel is nagenoeg hetzelfde, al heeft de SE met zijn 8.5" radius een iets plattere - en daarmee toegankelijkere - toets. Die toets is trouwens van echt rosewood! Natuurlijk wordt de SE Silver Sky geleverd met een SE Gigbag, zodat je hem veilig mee kan nemen naar je volgende optreden!

Omg I love this thing. Ordered one from Anker and it took a few days to get to me. Loved it so much I ordered two more from Amazon due to shipping speed. I travel a lot so you have no idea how awesome it is to have a device die and simply just plug it in to the bank and continue walking without having to find a power outlet. If I could suggest anything he would be for the brand to conclude a clip that we can use so I could clip it to my backpack. Well that's it
