Beginning with Walter Bauer in 1934, the denial of clear orthodoxy in early Christianity has shaped and largely defined modern New Testament criticism, recently given new life through the work of spokesmen like Bart Ehrman. Spreading from academia into mainstream media, the suggestion that diversity of doctrine in the early church led to many competing orthodoxies is indicative of today's postmodern relativism. Authors Köstenberger and Kruger engage Ehrman and others in this polemic against a dogged adherence to popular ideals of diversity. Köstenberger and Kruger's accessible and careful scholarship not only counters the "Bauer Thesis" using its own terms, but also engages overlooked evidence from the New Testament. Their conclusions are drawn from analysis of the evidence of unity in the New Testament, the formation and closing of the canon, and the methodology and integrity of the recording and distribution of religious texts within the early church.

______________

"The Heresy of Orthodoxy will help many to make sense of what is happening in early Christian studies today. It explains, critiques, and provides an alternative to, the so-called 'Bauer Thesis,' an approach which undergirds a large segment of scholarship on early Christianity. The 'doctrine' that Christianity before the fourth century was but a seething mass of diverse and competing factions, with no theological center which could claim historical continuity with Jesus and his apostles, has become the new 'orthodoxy' for many. The authors of this book do more than expose the faults of this doctrine, they point the way to a better foundation for early Christian studies, focusing on the cornerstone issues of the canon and the text of the New Testament. Chapter 8, which demonstrates how one scholar's highly-publicized twist on New Testament textual criticism only tightens the tourniquet on his own views, is alone worth the price of the book. Köstenberger and Kruger have done the Christian reading public a real service." Charles E. Hill, John R. Richardson Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity, Reformed Theological Seminary, Orlando

Cute - SIZE UP
Size: 33, Color: Luxor Heat - Light Indigo
these are super cute and look very flattering but they run SMALL. I used to wear 32s in Levi’s but lost 30 pounds this year so I ordered a size down and they didn’t fit at ALL. I reordered a size 33 and they still fit tighter. My Levi jeans in a 32 barely stay on me anymore but these are snug in a 33. They’re still super cute and comfy, guess it gives me room to size down into them for awhile lol

I love these!
Size: 30, Color: Athens Mid Short - Medum Indigo
Wow! I got these for$20! They fit just like the 501 pants to me. . The only thing I'd change is s little less fraying on the front but other than that these are a broken in lived in look for $20!

Wish the sizing was more accurate, but still cute!
Size: 33, Color: Luxor Heat - Light Indigo
These shorts are super cute! I really love the color and style, but the sizing is WAY off. I typically wear anywhere from a 12-14 in jeans. After looking at reviews, I sized up to order what I thought would fit like a 16. Unfortunately they are pretty snug. I am hoping after a few wears they will loosen overtime. I would size up two sizes if you are a curvy girl like me! They do not have much stretch to them, but good quality denim.

Perfect shorts!
Size: 30, Color: Athens Mid Short - Medum Indigo, Size: 30, Color: Athens Mid Short - Medum Indigo
I was worried these shorts wouldn’t cover enough of the butt area or that I wasn’t thin enough to wear them especially since most of the reviews are from thinner people. but OMG, they’re perfect. I’m 5 4, 152 Lbs and size 30 is absolutely perfect. Size 29 would be small for me.

Cute distressed shorts but size up!
Size: 30, Color: Athens Mid Short - Medum Indigo, Size: 30, Color: Athens Mid Short - Medum Indigo
Love these shorts! These Levi’s run small. I usually wear a 28 and ordered a 30 because that’s what was available. I’m 5’1”, 135 lbs for reference. They’re distressed and shorter in front which are perfect for us short gals.
