The historic Outline & Index of New York City becomes a living tableau here, streets stitched like a quilt, ferry wakes feathering the rivers, Broadway running its bright seam from the Battery to the Park. It feels like finding an old atlas in a favorite bookshop, then realizing it was made for your table.

In our New York studio we practice the quiet ritual of French decoupage. The map is laid in reverse on the underside of the glass, sealed with hand-brushed varnish, then softly bent so light moves across the surface like morning on the Hudson. The back is felted, the surface wipes clean, the piece is food safe, and Ben signs each one before it leaves the bench.

Set it by the door to gather keys and matchbooks, serve cocktails and oysters in the spirit of downtown evenings, or stand it upright on a shelf so the city becomes a small framed horizon. A folded note travels with it, telling the time-honored process that brought paper and glass together.

For New Yorkers past, present, and future, this tray is a little map of belonging.
