The APR Intake System is a substantial upgrade for the 4.0T EA825 engine. It offers significant horsepower and torque gains through a high flow design that greatly increases airflow while reducing pressure drop.
We've upgraded every part that actually translates to increased performance. Throttle response sharpens, as the system lets your engine to breath more freely. This causes the turbochargers to work less hard, which directly translates to the gains you feel. On top of that, the stunning carbon fiber and aluminum design looks fantastic in the engine bay and adds a pleasant auditory note to the engine. The filter is washable and reusable, and the cast aluminum turbo inlets use adapter rings with ideal entrances, making them compatible with larger turbochargers. This lets the system support even higher airflow levels, with low pressure drop, and even more horsepower and torque as you continue to mod!
Design Overview and Testing:
There was no component overlooked in the search for performance; the airbox, filter, couplers, and turbo inlets were each extensively analyzed and modified for maximum flow. The upgraded APR filter unit, featuring a low restriction cotton gauze media, flows 8% more than stock without sacrificing air quality. Flow is further improved by 52% larger airbox outlets, and 93% larger turbo inlets. The significantly improved APR turbo inlets are compatible with turbos featuring up to a 29% larger inlet port; various inlet adapters ensure that the APR intake will provide optimized flow for a wide range of turbos. Overall flow improvements of the intake result in a 50% reduction in pressure drop compared to OEM. The APR intake flows 19% less than the theoretical maximum supported by the OEM turbo inlet port diameter; a significant improvement compared to the OEM intake which flows 37% less than the theoretical maximum. Such significant improvements in flow quality and quantity are manifested in faster throttle response, reduced strain on the turbo, and increased efficiency which translates to more power. On the Stage 1 (93) APR RS6, an additional 47 AWHP and 38 AWFT-LBS of torque, to all four wheels, was measured on our calibrated chassis dynos. Same fluid as the Subaru brand

This is the manufacturer that makes the Subaru cvt fluid. I used this for the drain and fill on a 2019 Subaru Forester. No problem using a hand pump to fill the transmission. Excellent product will use again to service a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek.

2010 Subaru Outback CVT fluid 👍

2010 Subaru Outback CVT ... have been using this for several thousand miles instead of OEM fluid, and works just fine ... if your subie takes the "green" CVT fluid, this works excellent! I even used this after dropping the CVT valve body and replacing the lock up solenoid, so I had to replace with almost exactly 10 qts of fluid.

It Works! (Mustang 2016 ecoboost knocking noise)

Skeptical...... to Believer

I've waited awhile to write this review, to see how time effected my opinion. A little background, my daughter really wanted a 328i, so I went out and found a clean, single owner vehicle with a little over 100k on it. Its the family's first BMW, but as a mechanic I've seen and worked on them all. The BMW N52 engine seems overly complicated for what it does. Power output and economy are just average even though its got just about every bell and whistle including variable valve timing. One thing that struck me was how noisy it was. Kinda like a quiet sewing machine. I changed the oil to Mobil 1 0w/40 Euro blend and she drove it for 7k miles. During this time I read up on all the LL/01 oils for this car, so next oil change I used Castrol Edge, which is LL/01 certified. No difference. Car runs well, still sounds like a sewing machine. 7k more miles go by, and I learn about this CeraTec additive, and decide to give it a try based on all the good reviews. Yup, looks like a Orange Julius!! Well, I dump it it, and take it around the block. Engine seems a little quieter and smoother, but figure its my brain screwing with me. I slam the hood, and give my daughter the keys back, and off she goes.
And here's where it gets interesting.... My 19 year old daughter doesnt know squat about cars. She a 100% gas it up and go girl. So about 2 weeks after the CeraTec goes in we are sitting at the dinner table and she says... " Oh Daddy, I forgot to thank you for tuning up my car". I ask her what makes her think I did? She replies that since the last service its much smoother idling at red lights and its quieter. (Remember, she's driven it for 7500 miles at this point) I asked her how could she tell, as the radio is always at least half volume. She says when its running and she's got the window down ordering at a drive -thru it used to go "tickity-tickity" ( her words)as it echo'ed off the building.. and now its silent. I go out and fire it up and roll down the window and stick my head out.... yup. Silent and verrry smooth. She also has average MPG constantly on display , and its improved about .65 mpg. So, if you add all that up, it seems to work. Liqui-Moly says its lasts 30k miles. I service the car every 7k, so we'll see if this all stays the same after a service, which is coming up soon. The car uses zero oil between services, so I cant comment on that. But from a smoothness, quietness point of view, if my daughter noticed it without me prompting her, I would say thats what made me a believer more than anything. Thanks Liqui-Moly.
