Echinacea is loaded with antioxidants, such as flavonoids, cichoric acid and rosmarinic acid, which help defend your body against oxidative stress and fight the symptoms of these infections by supporting the immune system, helping to maintain the body's resistance.
The benefit of using freshly harvested herbs has been demonstrated in research - extracts produced from fresh plants contain almost 3 times more active substances compared with those obtained from equivalent amounts of dried herb. This is why, when you need a herbal remedy to help you fight the misery of colds and flu, not all Echinaceas are the same.
There is no evidence for Echinacea use during pregnancy and breastfeeding so it not recommended for use. It is also not advisable for children under 12 years.
Directions
Adults, older people and adolescents over 12 years: Take 20 drops in a little water two to five times daily to help with cold symptoms and also can be used as a preventative dose throughout winter.
